I have to go to Singapore shortly on a business trip. Since I'm staying over a weekend, I thought I'd rent a bike that weekend and go somewhere.

Does anyone know where to rent a bike for this short trip?

Are there any requirements other than a valid motorcycle license?

Any suggestions as to where to go?

Might become quite a challenge renting a decent big bike in Singapore short term as visitor due to weird rules and regulations (insurance).
Always a good hangout in the past = HANDLEBAR Singapore https://www.facebook.com/HandlebarSG but have not been for a year....

Well not ADVbikes but as far as I recall, Harley-Davidson / HOG Singapore http://www.harleysingapore.com had some sort of fly + ride programs quite some time ago through the Singapore dealership, might be worthwhile checking... nuff said'....

Never rented a bike from Ban Hock Hin (BHH) but I purchased stuffs from them several times... IIRC my Enduristan Monsoon, some Rok straps and RAM mount... service was great and quick...I'm in Jakarta, Indonesia and transactions were smooth. I will definitely do business with them again.

October 28-30? Maybe a ride from Sing to Malaysia for 2016 Moto GP. Not too far away.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think renting a motorcycle in Singapore that will allow you to take it out of the country is probably going to be challenging. If you want to head to Sepang (Malaysia), I'd suggest you take a bus into Malaysia (Johor Bahru) and then rent from there.

Well ~ few years ago (6) had the same idea as passing through Singapore with all my riding gear returning from AUS to CHN and had a few days between meetings.
MotoGP Malaysia was on and at that particular time no motorbikes for rent to be taken out of Singapore as tourist (short term visitor / non resident). Had something to do with special insurance (permit) and the high theft rate outside Singapore. Better check into motorbike rental available for border crossing (SIN > MAL) to avoid nasty surprises and extra $$$$'s.... 'nuff said...

Check into Malaysia bike rental: http://www.ridemalaysia.com.my and another option out of Singapore, not my riding style but they offer a "guided cruise" to the MotoGP Malaysia = http://www.eaglerider.com/motorcycle-tours/guided-motorcycle-tour/ride-to-the-moto-gp-singapore-tour
