Got vertigo while scuba diving once while I was descending upside-down into a cave

That was one of the most helpless scary freaky experiences I've ever had

Felt like I was a pair of blue jeans in a dryer

Almost threw up in my regulator

I can't even imagine living with that

Wait the OP is a counselor?? If ever a sorry group of geezers needed counseling, it would be us after even a short period of time with out being able to get out on our rigs. Does this thread count as “group therapy”?

Yes, I'm a counselor, and rumored to be fairly good..... But even a good therapist needs basically sound raw materials to work with..... Are you sure this group is basically sound? (Lol, I'm joking here, joking! Go easy on m, Davebig)

Otherwise, it would be like trying to prep a bunch of Urals for the Dakar!

My wife gets this two or three times a year.
She does this exercise and although it makes her nauseas, she is usually back to normal within a few hours.
I wonder if you did the exercise on a regular basis, would it stop the condition occurring in the first place?

    Semont Maneuver
    • Sit on the edge of your bed. Turn your head 45 degrees to the right.
    • Quickly lie down on your left side. Stay there for 30 seconds.
    • Quickly move to lie down on the opposite end of your bed. ...
    • Return slowly to sitting and wait a few minutes.
    • Reverse these moves for the right ear.

Thanks for the exercises, I will try both Semont and the Foster. I have been doing the “Epley Maneuver” for about 3 weeks. I thought it was getting much better, and then today while doing it the room really took off. I see the Dr. in the morning so I’ll see what he says.
I also agree with TurTal and think a wreck on three could be exponentially worse. I have seen pictures of Drones accident and a few others and It makes me worry for the monkey. I am also not ready to give up riding, So I’ll try any and all exercises and get through this.
Thanks to all for the exercises and support.

Just got done with Dr. today and doing much better. Big thanks to Josh @FLYING EYEBALL, the Dr. Foster video seems like a real game changer. I did her maneuver about 4 times last night and think it really helped. I’m gonna keep doing them all for a while because it can’t hurt.

True....before I got into Urals I was just a normal boring person leading a normal boring life

Through 17 years of driving Urals I became a mad man..a hideous creature unrecognizable from my former self

Over time the crappy handling and constant ticking of the valves somehow rewired my fragile brain and caused me to become one of the most prolific cereal killers the world has never known

Now all I do is roam around driving down back alleys and abandoned camp grounds looking...searching...waiting in the shadows ready to pounce

I can't help myself and I need to be stopped

All I really know is If they ever swab the inside of my Ural tub I'm totally fooked

My advice....don't become a victim....stay far the fuck away from any Ural you see

And for the love of pete moss what ever you do don't get tricked into taking a ride in a Ural

Trust me when I tell you.....It may be your last

Motorbikes are great therapy for me.
    Its time out.

Hours of 100% concentration on whats right in front of you, and not your worries.

Im thinking about the road surface, other traffic, the vistas, performance award suppliers at times, aromas and the unexpected and interesting sights along the way.
    Stuff like that.
