Anyone going to Wabeno for the June ride interested in riding big bikes on the thumper route?
They are the same route, hero sections optional. LittleJon always has a scenic detour or two.
just as a thought , especially being someone just pointed out it wasnt on the first page. registration closes on this friday ( may 27) at noon. this date was pushed back from the original posted on othe club web site. there is no day of ride registration. hope to see you in
Wonderful Wabeno WI - Dual Sport Capitol of the World !
I know we arent there yet if if everyone keeps googleing it we will be soon!
A quaint little drinking town with dual sport problem.
Little John might have a detour or two if he were going to be doing a big bike route. I don't think John was going to be doing a big bike route, it's up to the big bike riders if they want a big bike route.
I plan on taking my 1200GS Adventure on the entire thumper route, including John's "one track two track" off the ATV trail. I will not be doing any of the hero sections, and will be expecting to be running about 10 MPH slower than the little bikes (40 on gravel and 25 on the two track stuff).
Well maybe I'll see you on the trails then since that's about how fast I ride my little bike
Thanks to the registration extension, I booked my ticket north today. I cant wait. Lets hope for nice weather or yall can find me parked under MooseDog's fancy new camper drinking cheap beer for the duration of the weekend
I would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU ! to Eric and Adam at Latitude Graphics in (I believe) Cross Plains WI. they donated 500 of these really cool custom made arrows for the R4R and the big woods. they are on plastic so when we ues them on the hero sections the will be less likely to fall off in the wind and wet as well as wont get eaten by the bugs that really like some inks. if you know these guys please pass on the sediment. THANK YOU!!! lj
You are welcome Little John. I am just glad to do what I can to help our sport out.
Latitude Graphics is in Middleton by the way.
Really, LJ? They give you those nice arrows and you wanna fling mud and such at 'em? :huh
Those cool Latitude Graphics arrows saved us a TON of time at the Bucky. It's so nice to not have to go out and rehang arrows after every rain or wind. So I'm with ya on the THANKS!
But I'll leave the sediment at the bottom of the bucket.
P.S.: DON'T DELAY! GET SIGNED UP FOR THE R4R - DO IT NOW! REGISTRATION CLOSES AT NOON ON FRIDAY 5/27!
found that spelling more approprate being we are all dirt bikers and such , with the mud and the dirt and glopp n stuff.
well that and my inability to spell!
signed up, I have a feeling that I am going to win!
Are you going for the "Muddy Buddy" award?
You just told me about all the training you got out west this spring...lets put it to the test.
Im going to drag you on at least one hero with the GS's, I have Nick's BMW parts department on speed dial.
See ya in June.
In my kids school gym there is a sign that says "IF YOU HAD FUN, YOU WON!!"
I'm signed up, hoping that I won't be too hungover to ride again this year
Good thing I left you guys early that night last year. I could see trouble was brewing
Just got back from checking the routes yesterday-great day to ride. The wildlife count for the day was 1 porcupine, 2 wolves in the morning, 3 bear cubs, and another wolf in the afternoon that was not phased by us and just watched us from about 15-20ft away.
It did take me a while to figure out where I was, The track didn't look familiar through dry goggles and sunny skies!!
Hope we get some of that "weird" weather the weekend of the ride
They will become our "legacy arrows". How many can I staple to each tree :)
