Dont tell me he tried to make a week long adventure on a stock Dunlop tire?
Chris shoulda seen the cords coming.
Sportsters eat up dunlops before lunch.
Try a Metzeler M880 Marathon, will outrun 3 Dunlops.
( I thought everyone knew this already )

Kenai/Soldotna area rider Mike Tap went down hard last night somewhere around Casper, Wyoming. Wishing him well and waiting for an update.

Reports in Homer say the first rider came in around 3ish this morning. So I guess we have a winner.

If you look at the Hoka Hey race Facebook page, people are expressing skeptism about the two finishers:

    Anchorage Daily News quote:
"Frank Kelly of Prosperity, S.C., and Will Barclay of Highland, Fla., reached the Homer Spit at 4:20 this morning to claim victory in the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge after riding about 8,500 miles from Florida in a little over eight days. The pair had agreed after the last checkpoint in Fairbanks that for safety reasons they'd ride together, finish simultaneously and split the $500,000 pot. What money?
You think someone has 400 ounces of gold in their hip pocket around here?
( Irony : arrival time 0420 hours, good luck splitting that POT )

I rode into the ice arena with the 3rd rider in around 3:30 this afternoon, there were no banners, no U Haul trucks and no reps from HH to check him in. However I did meet some nice folks who have riders in the race and were in hopes of getting info from the guy comming in. There may or may not be some issues with this event and I'm not getting drug into it :D , but I don't think anyone in at this time completed the complete course as required and will be DQd.

    Welcome to Homer.
For my part, I will be LEAVING town Friday, and riding as far away from this carnage as I can go.

Yes he should have been wearing a helmet but methinks you could have been a little more tactful in your condemnation.

Ya I know I don't come across to well alot of times. I don't like seeing it when these guys ride without a helmet there is no excuse and thay don't think of the people who care about them. Did I do better? I have had friends die that way and it makes me mad.
