From the FB Group SoCal Adventure Bike Riders:

Friday the 20th of March, I went for an adventure ride with my friend John Ravera. We were having a great time and put in some serious mileage when it came to an abrupt end with John getting into an accident with a car on SR22 in Borego Springs, CA. We had just ridden up Inspiration Wash to a small lookout that John wanted to show me as I had never ridden in that area of Borego. We were back on SR22 headed East when at Fonts Point a car decided to flip an illegal U turn at the bottom of the wash with absolutely no line of sight of on coming traffic. John T boned the car.
I wasn't going to post anything regarding this as I wanted to keep the privacy of the family. I just spoke to John's wife Amy and she asked that I post and ask for prayers for John and the family.
Please send prayers to John Ravera and family.

+1000 one of the best dudes I had the pleasure of meeting at Pahrump last year. This guy went out of his way to help me fix my 1090 taking spare bolts and tools out of his tool pack. Little things go a long way

God bless you Johnny Rav and all his family and immediate friends. Quick recovery!

John is a great dude! Many may not realize he has volunteered dental services in Baja over the years. He's a generous man...

@GalacticGS is exactly right, he is a great guy. The first time meeting Johnny you know he will be a friend for life. I had text him Friday about riding in the desert the following day. It was very unusual when he didn't respond. Thank you for being there Dean.

I wanted to give everyone an update on John that I received today.

John is still in a coma but responding well to the doctors tests. He will have a tracheotomy tomorrow. The doctor says John is posturing his limbs with stimulation, so that could be good news on the higher functioning of his brain. They will increase his nutrition intake slowly as he has been tolerating it well. This is a very slow process, but sounds like they are closing the book on "Saving John's Life" and are beginning "Caring for John" as his brain starts to reconnect over time.
Thank you for all the prayers, many have reached out to me.
