    Pecs didn't disappoint!

glad we get to explore the city and we enjoyed the walking tour. almost all the attractions are set in the city centrum.

l highly recommend people should visit Pecs. Ian and i talked about how nice to own a property there, but of course, that won't happen. yesterday we talked to a rider who used to live in Pecs and he confirmed it's not moto friendly.

About headlights. There were usual halogen bulbs in my car and moto and I changed it firstly on bright Osram night breaker. Then I installed on car LED "bulbs" that are super good )

Love your RR, found it late. we leave tomorrow for Zagreb, for 3 more months. what I like and it shows in your picts, is the difference, in calif. we went to the mountains, coast etc. to get away from the cities, in Eastern Europe, we do the mountains and the coast too, but we head for the central, old part of the cities to relax and walk around, and enjoy what a city has to offer, and not have too worry about where you are walking, or what you might step in/on, never felt scary, not like Sacramento.....and in Colombia, it's hard for me to relax while driving, there is just to much bad driving and it's not fun anymore. Eastern Europe is relatively small compared to the US or Colombia, one day you can be in Bosnia having Cevapcici, and a day or two a nice goulash in Hungary. yes, sometime you run into someone that's not very friendly or helpful, but then the next person is dragging you home to have a meal and a Rakija. I've never had a problem with police in the Balkans, at first it's serious and they want to see my "papers", and after a few minutes they find out I'm not local we are laughing and getting directions to a good restaurant up the road. I know it's different for everyone, but so far a smile has helped us more than hurt. good luck with the rest of the trip, hope we cross paths somewhere, glad to see someone else on the road during these strange time. "what a long, strange trip it's been":ricky

hello Mike. thanks for tagging along.

after i fixed the stock seat, magic happened. really happy riding ms. merkel. as long i stay away from motorways, everything is good. there are times i wish i am on my AT, but that will only get me in trouble.

    cheers.

    2021.09.03 - 07 Zabreb, Croatia

it was late in the day when we entered Croatia. seems campgrounds are non-existent so we looked for a hotel room. we got to Prelog, and while i was sitting on a bench at a park, a lady approached and asked me if i need a hotel room. she introduced herself as the directress of the Panorama Hotel and she'll have a room for us. ok great, but how much....80 euros! damn. we were tired and we didn't care about the price at that point.

next morning, we took off for Zagreb

it was about noon when we made it to Zagreb and it was nice to be able to checked-in early. we got into our street clothes and headed to the city center using the tram. being a Saturday, the manned ticket booth was closed, or maybe just on a lunch break. a local suggested we go board the tram and not worried about having no tickets.

pepe...glad to have you aboard. good to hear about your experiences. so far, ours are good and memorable.

we're only here in Zagreb for 3 days and already saw and experienced a lot, but there are more. tomorrow (Tuesday) we are leaving for Maribor Slovenia, which is north and we'll be exploring the city and use it as a home base to ride in the Slovenian Alps.

maybe i will see you somewhere along the coast sometime late this month or early part of October.

keep the adventure safe and exciting.

Good to hear it. Thanks for the pictures. I just stopped for fuel on the outskirts there on the road to Szeged once.

Napier Deltic engine - far out! (Good German engineering, from the Junkers 204 via the Napier Culverin).

    2021.09.07 Zagreb - Maribor

we made it to Slovenia from Croatia. beautiful ride except Slovenia would not let me in at Rogatec border crossing since it's for EU residents only....customs official directed me to take Lupinjak (another small road) so i could get my passport stamped out.

we made it to Kekec Campground in Maribor, one of the nicest and cleanest ones i've ever stayed. outside of downtown and very quiet. it's at the foot of a ski slope, near a bus line and a supermarket. Ian and i got some groceries and finally started eating healthy....lol

haha...i never knew there was a pedestrian there in the shade.

    :D

    :clap

we think old town Zagreb can be done in 2 full days of sightseeing on foot. took us longer due to too many crosswalks and distractions.

The Tesla Museum looks very cool. The building itself looks like an old municipal gymnasium but there is a lot of great stuff inside. Can’t imagine being in that submarine and not going crazy.
