    Trogir once again
    [IMG]

it turned out that staying in Trogir was a good call. my accommodation was almost brand new, very reasonable at 30 euros/night, in quiet neighborhood, with a kitchen, washer and all plus the parking is just outside my room. the attractions, groceries, bus station are 5 minutes away on foot.

Still around Split? Head south to see the fantastic old pirate city Omiš and then above Makarska to the mountain Sv.Jure, Biokovo. You can ride to about 1.700m above the sea level straight from the sea.
It is a fantastic view from there to all the islands around.

i rode by Omis but didn't venture to the seaside.

Nothing to see in Neum. So, where then from Dubrovnik? Montenegro, Albania,..? I am thinking to go south these days. Maybe to ride TET in Montenegro. Don't know, yet.
I see you are from Burbank, my grandfather lived in Montrose and I visited him several times in the seventies and eighties. Nice memories.

next would be Kotor Montenegro, then to Albania. possibly as far south as Berat or Vlore - really depends on how much time i have. it looks like i will be stuck here in Dubrovnik for the next 4 days due to bad weather...non-stop rain!

realistically, i only have 6 days to do Montenegro - Albania - Montenegro - Bosnia (thinking of going to Sarajevo on my way to Belgrade).

i need to be in Belgrade by October 14th or 15th so i could prep the bike for long-term storage, get a covid test before the 20th (flight requirement), fly to Frankfurt then to LA.

yes, Montrose is not far from me. i go there all the time to see friends and buy moto stuff from Scotts Performance.

are you taking the HP2 to TET? mine is a museum piece, less than 4k miles, and stashed in the corner of my garage.

    :(

overall about 30 hours net riding time, looks doable. What made you choose Belgrade for long time storage?

    a sin, ride it!

TET is most of the time easy to ride, I think I will do it on my GSA. Did Slovenia and Croatia on it. More comfortable on road to get there and has all the cases and gear on it. I am not saving the HP2 for anybody, use it mostly for hard offroad.
6 days for Montenegro and Albania and back is not a problem. A detour to Sarajevo will take some time. There is a very nice campsite at Lake Shkoder, I suggest you to stop there. They have tents to rent with real beds, no need to set your own. And a very good restaurant. https://www.lakeshkodraresort.com/.

my friend's offer to keep my bike in Thessaloniki is still good. it was a great place to start this year's trip. he took care of my bike, got me a good mechanic, tires, custom seat, and lots of pre-trip services. location-wise, it's a little far from my 2022 routes, which is to ride the Alps, Vercors, Sardinia, Corsica, southern France, Pyrennes and the Iberian Peninsula. besides, i want to see Belgrade and see a friend.

truth i forgot there's an HP2 in the garage. the 701 and XR400 are getting more attention.

    thanks for the advice.

i would do TET assuming i have riding buddies and traveling light. dirt is always good and fortunately, we have a lot of it at home.

if it doesn't stop raining by this Thursday, i will just go ahead and ride as far south where there's little or no rain.

crossing the border into Bosnia Herzegovina means going through the customs and buying a Green Card Insurance even though it's only 12 miles long. i opted to take the ferry at Ploce to the peninsula, thus avoiding B&H.

that's a lot of coast riding and glad it was north to south to get the best view. i could have stop and take stunning pictures but that will disrupt the feeling of being in nirvana.

when i made it to Dubvronic, i have to call the host of the apartment to get the key.......my phone died. glad to find someone at a restaurant and able to borrow his phone....nice guy on the far left (black shirt).

Very nice Joel. You can stay along the coast for the rest of the trip, as far as I’m concerned. I love this stuff. Parts of the coastline definitely look like parts of PCH, minus the waves, of course.

i wanted E07 but only found Heidi K60, similar and both last long. my next set will be E07+.

the coast is long, smooth, and has lots of sweeping turns. it's a moto paradise.

riding the coastal road is mostly on top gear and still, i was able to enjoy the view and snap decent pics. stopping is anti-climactic, tough decision to make, pause and take stunning pictures or treat myself. i chose the latter.

almost PCH, cut on the mountainside following the coast, and one needs patience following the caravans. unlike CA, there are several villages and interesting towns to check out or drive through. the price of gas $$ about the same, and ms. merkel enjoying the 95 octane.
