HU Romania turned out a very nice experince.

more later. non-stop rain for the next 4 days at Maguri Racatau so we were forced to ride out and find a dry place using Ventusky. the closest one is in Gyula Hungary and so we crossed the border again, and we made it here around 4 pm. we set up our tent and had dinner in town. got back to camp, use the wifi for a short update.

we're going to hang out here for another day and explore the place on foot.

robbie...don't wait, do it soon. ride my bike if you want.

the aux light went kaput after 4 days of so. i need to put a set of high-quality lights. riding here in eastern Europe, nobody will see me with the stock headlight. lots of passing and aggressive drivers like the states.

Heidelberg is a great city to visit. We visited it on a whim because that is where many operations on “Hogans Heroes” took place. We were pleasantly surprised.

there were about 60-70 participants, all come and go elsewhere, them come back for dinner and the travel presentations.

my guess, 50% Romanians, and the rest equally divided among Germans, Bulgarians, Polish and Hungarians. There are other countries represented but fewer numbers like the UK, Austria, Slovakia, Estonia, Finland, and 3 from the US. never seen so many riders from different countries all in one gathering.

glad to have you aboard and thanks for chiming in.

glad i made the decision to wait out and attend the gathering. while i was in Hungary, i had 9 days free to head out to Croatia or Slovakia and Poland. this will take me farther west and going back to Romania is a chore. anyway, i made the right decision to stay put and attend the gathering.

meeting riders of different nationalities and world travelers made me realized there's a bigger world out there needing to be explored. of course, on a thumper, the travel time would be much longer...:lol2

thanks to all whom i met and for sharing their travels.

the HU Romania crew did a fantastic job!

    2021.08.29-31 Gyula Hungary

took us 6 hours to get from Maguri Racatau to Gyula Hungary. it rained during the first 2 hours and the rest of the time it was cold. it wasn't too bad, but the weather will get colder and possibly wet, so i need to shop for winter gear soon.

    just about ready to leave

once in Gyula, we camped at Mark Camping - right in the center of the city and still very quiet. 10 euros/night/person

afterward we walked over to town and had dinner...less than 10 euros each dish

    Enjoying the RR Joel.

I hope you're not going broke after paying all those girls to pose with you for a picture.

I'm sure they went home and showered afterward.
