so much knowledge to learn and relearn, didn't take pics of them. we could spend the whole afternoon there but they were closing early and have to leave.

btw Nikola Tesla was born in the region.

2021.09.07-09 Maribor and Ptuj - Slovenia

it's only a 2-hr ride from Zagreb to Maribor by highway, and we looked for another option. my Garmin Montana wants the fastest or shortest time, and neither we want. Ian suggested using his TomTom which has the option to take twisties and back roads, and we both liked it.

Kekec Campground so far is the nicest and cleanest place i ever stayed, and the host was the most helpful and friendliest person ever.

our neighbors were all friendly and nice. most of them were from the Netherlands and Germany, but it was Federico from Rome whom Ian and i made friends with. also first time to see to a Benneli TRK 502 adventure bike - best selling adv bike in Italy

Federico is @Zero HighWays here on the forum and has a lot of video travels on YouTube

from Maribor to Ptuj is a short 30 km ride but we doubled the distance and time by taking the back roads. Ian's TomTom proved to be valuable in finding the nicer and moto-friendly routes.'

Was just on Big T yesterday, but the Crest & Forest is closed (and every campground I could see). Angeles Crest was blocked at AFH. Fireroads gated, "Bosque Cerrado" & "Forest Closed" signs everywhere.
Pretty warm here, looking fwd to Parumph.

You (continue to) have a great time there!

DS. thanks for tagging along and i appreciate your comments.

sorry to hear about the forest closure and warm weather. tough times, but hopefully in another month we'll see favorable conditions.

Pahrump will be fun and we'll have cooler weather.
