Tree growers prefer a clean cut 3/4 inch away from the tree trunk.
Not to close to have a open wound on the tree trunk & and not too long for the tree to heal around the cut off branch.
A saw like PXD Scott can be tethered inside your fanny pack, and tethered on each end of the saw is best.
    Great upper body work out.
The wood handle saw I used would get thru a 16 inch down log.
Have not located a replacement with the big spaced out teeth like I prefer.
The wood handles will brake over time.

Hey folks, been a while. Looking at decent temps and skies this coming weekend. Thinking of dinking around with an eye towards camping at Keeps Mill or thereabouts. What are the road conditions up there these days?

I ride similarly. The big bike makes this easier.
This ^^ Except with my 990/1090, I have a nice big front end and windshield to give the bushes the first beating. My faceshield thanks me.

Did the Black Dog Dual Sport more than a few years back.
Tom sent the A riders thru an overgrown trail with brush over our heads and you could not see past your gas tank.
Luck had it, it was the same route as the year before that I did, and I kind of knew where I was going.
Not so for the guy following behind me, who was whining big time, almost frantic cries.:lol3:lol3
No... it was not Hells Al...:photogor anyone I knew then.:lol3

The trails up the Walla Walla used to get overgrown. Before I started wearing armor I would get a real titty lashing...

What the heck is that yeller bike? Parts of it look like a KTM 690, but I think I see a Yamaha motor?

That bike ran sweet the whole day riding the CDR with me. Sounds fantastic, appears to have very good low RPM tractor abilities, and great on-road prowess. It's probly lighter than the new 790R Adventure :evil Absolutely fuggin beautiful and sweet build.

    No, I didn't snag a ride :cry

How are the conditions in the TSF? If not covered in snow, would be fun to see if we can do a day ride sometime near the holidays.

Yesterday was excellent. Puddles in the usual spot, and brown pow in the others. It was a sneaky good day. No snow to be seen, either.

And yes, we should absolutely do a ride out there. So much excellent singletrack.

As a bonus, how many riders can you spot in the first picture?

    Hey Guys
Anyone dealt with the Yamaha dealer in Hood River?
Ive read very mixed reviews online and was hoping for some updated first hard experience before I make a purchase.
    Thanks!!!
