Tried looking on the web for info, but wasn't too successful. Planning a run up the Trans-Lab in early June, and was wondering what the weather would be like in relation to camping/riding. Stuff like average temp is easy to get, but I was wondering about issues such as the spring thaw, road conditions, rain...things like that. Any info, as well as reccomended stops, would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks, Malcolm
The one thing I'll mention is Blackflys. The area will be overun with them. Make sure the bike is in good repair as you don't want to have to stop and fix something. I imagine it will be cooler in Labrador than areas at lower latitudes. :huh Others should be along with the other info you want.
June is a great time to go; the earlier, the better. The daytime temps are around 60 and ~30 at night. August is drier, but June has NO BUGS. June also has real long daylight hours. I'm considering going back up this year with my open trip dates being June 6-30. Watch out for the stray snow storm. The ground is also soggy off the beaten path and there is still some snow on the ground. PM me if you need any more info. Mark
Will be in NFLD and Labrador this June. Road conditions are available at http://www.roads.gov.nl.ca/ Hey Night_Wolf.... You coming with Cindy and I?
Tahnks a lot folks....Mark, CroMag or I will most likely shoot you a pm if we have any questions. I must say, those magic words, NO BUGS, was music to our ears.
Ya bastige you know I would kill to be able to make that trip. I haven't been "home" since I started riding and the summer I originally planned it I was hit by that damm drunk. Can you find me a job that will pay me enough so I can afford to take a months holidays to head out with you Type @ Ya'll Later Night_Wolf http://www.intruderalert.ca
