Oh the joys of an older bike eh? or newer bike haha. :D
Mrs. Admiral has had to come pick me up more than once from a dead bike. For the record, not all were TW's. :lol3

Great report Admiral!! I sold my TW and have a 2021 Honda NC 750DCT on order...miss the tdub but I got one of those mini bikes to play with and a 74 Trail 90 in pieces to play with in the mean time. Be happy to connect some time. Ride Safe.

Well darn, I got behind again. So sorry to all of you that are following this thread.

May 01, 2021, we had our 2nd annual Corona 100 mini bike race. 100 miles of silliness.
This is what was being competed for:

@LC Garage & @Jungle Man with the bikes lined up.

This "race" isn't a promoted race, it's is a race between a few friends and family members. It's a lot of fun and a good way to get together once a year.

My mini, but I decided not to ride this year. My part of the ride was as the sponsor for the gals riding. I'm not competitive and I'm a lot happier watching and cheering on the team.

The all women's team. Becky, Cortney, & Christine. (Cortney isn't pregnant, that was her costume :lol3). The three of them make a good team.

They are the Fearless Four - I'm the fourth.

Courtney pretending to smoke a cigarette while I scold her.

    @Jungle Man

    Becky
    [IMG]

    The lineup of teams
    [IMG]

    The running start
    [IMG]

Becky and LC Garage had been challenging each other on which of them was going to get the holeshot.

Neither of them did, they were both having issues getting their minis to start.

    Then there was one.

There was a bit of an issue with the pull start.

With a bit of help from another team's rider, the starter was being fixed.

It's all about fun so everyone was willing to help.

I stole this pic from Christine. I like it so I wanted to add it here.

That pull rope is a tad long
    [IMG]

It's running and only one lap behind.

If nothing else the rider changes went well.

It's fun seeing other team's members cheering on the teams they are competing against.

    @Kootenai Rider

    Orrin
    [IMG]

Kootenai Rider and Courtney are married and on different teams. They were doing a bit of smack talk. :lol3
    [IMG]

Out on the track Courtney was trying to pass Kootenai Rider and he was trying to stay ahead of her. He missed a beat and crashed. Apparently, she looked over her shoulder as she was going around him and shouted are you OK? He got up so she kept going. I love that girl, she is so much fun. Her husband loves her too even if she does leave him crashed out on the track.

The pit stops in the Ladies' pit went quick.

    Coming in fast
    [IMG]

    And going out fast
    [IMG]

Or as fast as it can be on a mini bike
    [IMG]

The winner! Team T98 (LC Garage's team)

But the finish line celebration was short lived.

Christine was pushing the mini back to the pits. She's OK just pooped.

I think Jackie is telling her to get up and finish the race. :lol3 Christine was Jungle Man's finance here and he's paying more attention to the bike than her. :D (They were married two days ago)

If your finance doesn't complete the race just throw her in the trunk. :imaposer
    [IMG]

Yup, they still like each other.

Team T98 with their trophies. They were happier than they look.

    And everyone got a prize.

Both these minis need a little TLC before next year.

Check here for LC Garage's write-up about the mini bike race. he provides better details and more pics.

I look at the temps inland and I'm not sure I want to say it out loud... Didn't hit 70 today, probably won't for at least ten days. 50's at night. Mostly been clear, hazy today. No rain for something like 20 days. I figure I'm going to have to go gambol and frolic in the woods pretty soon. Before they wear out.

The weather was nice and it was a good day to take a ride. I met Red at the gas station.

    And we were off.

    Traffic in the Palouse

This is part of the Channeled Scablands created by the Missoula Floods about 15,000 years ago.

This truck RV has been parked on the edge of Sprague, WA for many years. I sure would like to see the inside of it.

A stop to look at the old trucks was in order, just because I like old trucks.

The motorcycles are waiting impatiently. I guess it was time to stop looking at old trucks and time to ride motorcycles.

I got a mirror shot of Red.

    More Channeled Scablands.

Sprague Lake. The interstate is on the other side and I'm happy to be on the none interstate side.

Over the shoulder shot, I got lucky with this one.

This bus was abandoned about 15 miles south of Washtucna, WA where it sat for a long time. It was moved to just north of Washtucna last year or so. Someone is painting it as we rode by.

Taking a short cut to Palouse Falls.

It's nice that my Harley riding friend isn't afraid of getting his bike dirty.

    We're almost there.

It sure doesn't look like there is a water fall ahead.

I'm not a fan of signs like this but it is common in Eastern WA.

    There's the falls.

The rocks look like a castle. Someday I want to hike down to those rocks.

    Down river
    [IMG]

I got a little bit of a rainbow. Wahoooo.

We took a little break, visited and had a snack before we headed for home.

It was a good day for a 260 mile ride to look at a waterfall.

Go one block south of the main drag in Pomeroy. A guy named Dave has a neat little museum with old cars etc..On the way east he has two yards with old trucks and a swell motorhome.
I happened to catch him outside working on a truck and got the $5.00 tour...

Great write ups and pictures! I was looking at the minis yesterday (just looking). That old truck-motorhome is pretty cool. :D

PS: I thought Red just bought a dual sport, so the Harley must be part of his fleet?

5/13/21 I took off for a few days to work on visiting the Tour of Honor locations in Washington.

The motorcycle is ready to ride. It's amazing how much this bike has been through and it still looks pretty good.

I've been wanting an updated pic of myself, so I tried to take a selfie. I don't think I will ever get good at selfies or get used to what I look like in pics. I do like seeing pics of the people that write ride reports so it's fair that I post a pic of myself every so often. I'm ready to ride and even though I look grumpy I'm happy.

    On the road.

Ah yes, the open road of the Palouse.

Just riding into the small town of Malden, WA. It made national news last year as the town burned to the ground. It's so sad since it was a very nice little town.

    This was the Post Office.

The insides of this look like they burned and the ceiling collapsed. If I recall correctly the last time I was through Malden this was a community center.

This farm a few miles away looks a lot better than town.

    Much nicer.

I sure would like to visit this place. I believe it is a private collection and not open to the public.

The Palouse has its share of cool old barns.

    Ghosttown of Winona, WA
    [IMG]

I think this is the Palouse River which flows into Palouse Falls.

Dropping into canyons like these makes me smile, I like the terrain changes.

    And then back up.

    Old Post Office.

I want to go in and look around.

The bus at Washtucna, I now see what was being painted on it the last time I rode past. "Love" was covering obscene words.

If it weren't for Viet Nam in the '60s I would want to return to the '60s and be a hippie. Love, peace, flower power and all that.

There isn't much to Washtucna and this little outdoor museum is fun to check out.

A truck parked next to the gas station.

I'm not sure what these blue tinted trees are off to the left. Maybe olive.

Part of the dry side. Not all of WA is wet and green.

The Columbia River from the Vernita Bridge, sorta near Mattawa, WA
    [IMG]

    Zillah, WA
    [IMG]

The Teapot. This was created with the Teapot Dome Scandal as the reason for the teapot.

There is a nice memorial here however it isn't part of the ToH.

This one in Granger, WA was part of the ToH.

Even a replica of the Twin Towers brings tears to my eyes. 9-11 was so sad.

Granger had a number of prehistoric creaters wandering the streets.

    Moving on
    [IMG]

    More to come . . .
