Really looks like a nice country to explore!
I rode Norway a couple of years ago, it was fun looking through your pictures, I need to go back!
A month in Norway, PART 11: Through the land of Finns
True and fictional stories of the Northernmost Europe - history and present mixed. Why it took 300 years for crusaders and only two days for us? They didn't ride motorcycles... and they used different navigators!
The whole story and all pics here: https://www.vanhamoto.net/2021/02/kuukausi-norjassa-osa-11-suamelaisten.html (and something hidden even better than usually! :) )
Border-river - our country Finland is on the other side of the river.
The Arctic Ocean
Viivi's new cabin
- Viivi & Ben
I've been following your RR and really have enjoyed the amazing scenery. It's put Norway on my bucket list of places to visit. I've been to eastern Europe twice but never had enough time (or money) to visit the Scandinavian countries. Thanks for sharing. Oh and thanks for sharing the hidden pics.
While waiting for the next part, Viivi made a "Spring greeting" if you want to see what it's like here these days https://www.vanhamoto.net/2021/03/kevatta-odotellessa.html Same warnings as usual!
A month in Norway, PART 12: Hamningberg - the final battle
Hamningberg is one of those final frontiers, a very special place. Like a meteorit had crushed a mountain and a very small road goes there. Nobody lives there anymore, but "Hitler's ghost" is still there quite visible.
The whole story and all pics here: Oma Aika: Kuukausi Norjassa, osa 12: Taistelu Hamningbergissa (vanhamoto.net) (and something hidden better than ever! :) )
...and after that sauna!
A month in Norway, Epilogue: Rillumarei and totally worn tyres
From Vesisaari/Norway to Rovaniemi/Finland is about 600 kms / 370 miles and our tyres were worn rather badly. Do we get there? We did but had to spend a few days to get new tyres to the north. Why did people end up living there a long time a go? There were not even roads to get there for thousands of years. The reason was rillumarei - that's not a real word but it's used anyway. Rillumarei is having fun in with all possible ways for a longer period

This was the month in Norway (and Finland)
Back in Finland - no high mountains but thousands of lakes
The best and only place around to have something to eat
In the city of Rovaniemi. Slightly different than e.g. New York.
In Rovaniemi, not a long way from down town. A dancing place. Not exactly a disco.
The whole city of Rovaniemi and that's how it is in Finland. Forests and lakes. A lots of them.
Even in the deeps forests you can find you can find interesting places. Yes, there are bears and wolves but they don't attack people (usually...).
Church of Rovaniemi
The Finnish Defence Forces are present everywhere - F18 F/A Hornet in Rovaniemi. In Finland we have compulsory military service.
A bridge for cars and trains
Meeting friends of our motorcycle society
The water wasn't so cold
And from now on, let's go back to the Riding in Finland https://advrider.com/f/threads/finnish-riding.1094114/ as the next rides will be there. Perhaps back to Norway in the Summer!
