    Hello!

Has anyone rode around Nicaragua and have any recommendations for rides, great roads, roads to avoid, rental recommendations, or anything else?

    Thank you!

    Hi
I expend a lot of my time in Nica, riding is very safe and people are very helpful if you brake down or have a flat
Hotel have gonna down in price sharply lately due to the political troubles of 2017-18
Let me know if you need a rental bike,I can hook you up with the SWM dealer for a Superdual 600

Thanks! I'd love to know any specific recommendations you have of places where you really enjoyed riding or accomodations in the more remote areas.

I have a few options for rental already lined up but I'd be happy to connect with the dealer you know. The biggest thing for me is finding a dual sport bike that will be low enough for me, I am very short.

Then the Superdual will be out
    Maybe a Bonneville?
Best places to visit in order
Leave Managua for Volcan Masaya to see the crater, keep going on to Lake Apoyo and expend the night there, then go to Granada and the Nicaragua Lake, expend the night there and on your way south to San Juan del Sur visit the Mombacho volcano, plan 2-3 nights in San Juan’s and surrounding beaches, when you head back to Managua go to San Jorge, take the ferry to Ometepe island and expend at least a night there.
If you want to see the north you can do Matagalpa,Jinotega and Esteli and come back vía Leon and Las Penitas

Oh cool, that sounds like it could be good, although is much more expensive than the other options I'm looking at

You are probably looking at Chinese 125cc for around $25 a day, some are decent bikes if they are new, stay away from the ones that look beat up

Ok, I found a Yamaha (I think 125) and a Genesis (200cc) which are apparently new.

Where are the SWM rentals located?

I rented a bike and rode around several years ago. It's a small country, and basically all the roads/cities are on the west side. You can see most of it in rather short time.

Leon is beautiful. Gotta go to out to Omotepe Island for a night. Go up into the mountains in the north, Jinotega was a nice town for a night.

There are resorts on the Pacific coast that have huge properties & private beaches, with few other guests, if you want to splurge for a night or two.
I'd try to spend the least amount of time in Managua, other than that, it's great.
