OK, I'm only there on the weekends, albeit usually 3 day weekends. I'll PM you my cell in case you find yourself close by Fri-Sun May 31-June 2. At the least I can share some tips/must do's.

    Don’t ride a 1290 or you’ll itch to trade. Don’t ask how I know...

Rode with a friend today...did a loop down 74A to Rutherfordton, then up 221. Gorgeous day! But HOT below 1100ft elev!
A couple left turns later we stop in a church parking lot on Cove Rd to sip some water, and 15 minutes later when we sling our legs back over the saddles, her bike won't start. Click-buzz.
The short version is, that a neighbor stopped by and helped push-start her bike. Thank you to Mike in Rutherford ton, you are a gentleman and a scholar! Home safe and grateful for good people and air conditioning! IMG_20190524_151557453.jpg

Best to stay elevated on days like this. It’s close to 90 in Asheville today and 73 at Mtn Mitchell.

DREAM GARAGE! So beautiful, I can't even think of anything snarky to say, which you know for me is a hard refrain...

Be nice to see any of you blockheads tomorrow. Otherwise, Bob and I will eat all of the goodies at Sarah’s and ride all of the good roads by ourselves. :D

Actually hay cut, dried and bailed yesterday. I should do more mowing, but Brad said he was playing hooky to go riding so I took it as mandate from Above.......................:happay

I posted this on another thread by mistake but I'll ask here.
So is Craig Creek Rd. to FSR 928 to 181 an open route this time of year? Mapping is hard for forest roads! For me anyway.
Would like to go from Buffalo Mercantile to Wiseman's View Overlook on Old 105.
I was and maybe still going to hit Maple Sally Rd. up to Betsy's Store. Table Rock Rd. Looks great to.
Sucks to have to choose one over the other!!

If you’re coming from there...are you looking to go up Sampson to Aho/BRP, south to 221, catch Globe Road in Blowing Rock, right on 90 then carry on to the store, down Brown Mountain Beach to Craig Creek Road? It should all be open, I want to say 928 was a week ago when I came up that way, but I’m happy to ride out this week and verify it.

Hate you missed us rustyrocket. We missed you Jim, and Sarah’s food did too lol. I believe Sarah’s business is fixing to really take off. She has joined forces with Bruce that started Freebornes, and they are planning to start opening up on Sundays and really add to the back outside area. Said they may even offer camping! Either way, same hospitality, and same great food.

I got in just over 300 miles today, and even though I was only kidding about bobw buying breakfast, he really did! Thanks @bobw I owe you, and thanks for letting me take that new 850 for a spin! I will say that I believe the 1190 is trying to get attached to me. A real adventure bike on crack! I’m digging it!
