Does that mean Stoney Fork is now open? That's the road between Dillingham road up to the backside of Craggy Gardens picnic area? How far is Dillingham road open on this map?

So here's one for ya. Yesterday we ended up in Leatherwood Mountain Resort. We started off on some side road off Mt. Zion Rd, made a left then what I thought was Elk Ridge Rd. Problem is I created this route manually on a GPS app. When I got to Elk Ridge Rd. I went up a few yards but it was showing my track to the left maybe 100' running the next road over. Turned back to that one. Didn't look like a road because It was just two tire tracks into the woods then right away straight up hill a rocky rutted up track just wide enough for an ATV. This sucker was brutal for several hundred yards I reccon but there was no turning back. Got to the top and then back down the other side and we're in this fancy ass horseing community. Still following my GPS track it took us to a pass code locked gate. Turned back and asked some people on horses how to get out. They asked my how I got in its a private community with gates at all entrances.
I said well we kinda came outta the mountains up there and here we are. Anyway went back to the gate and around it dwn the sidewalk and then I saw the sign Leatherwood Mountain Resort.
Anyon know of that trail I was on? Maybe I was supposed to be on Elk Ridge Rd. and took a fire trail?

OK I see it on Google now. It's a path that runs from Obie Green Rd to Rodeo Rd. Don't guess I was supposed to be there. It was a rough one. Really can't believe neither of us dropped the bike.

Thanks. I've ridden in every state in this country except Washington and Oregon, and hit parts of Canada and this area is right up there with the best riding ever!

I would have to agree with you! I've done all of the lower 48 except the PNW (Oregon, Washington, and Idaho). While the scenery out west is hard to beat, when it comes to just enjoying the ride, it's hard to beat what we call home! :beer

I am surely blessed to be 3 miles from the Place you stayed last night. 3800' and a view of the Black mtns.

When you ready to hit Idaho and Washington, I suggest taking Lolo, hwy 12. Every seen the sign 99 miles of curvy roads ahead? That's the road. At the end of hwy 12 (east to west) your only a few miles from Oregon.

<-------------- Here's Your Sign. I only rode the paved road, not knowing there were unpaved sections paralleling it.

I have to spend this Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec in the Boise ID and Richland WA area for work.

Looks like I may need to call in sick to coming home and spend a few weekends in the area!

Tuesday is definitely the day to ride Deal's Gap! Not much traffic, not too many wrecks, and a nice 275 mile loop from my front door! IMG_20190604_131939644_HDR.jpg IMG_20190604_135342737.jpg

Spent a few hours down at Uwharrie on the Husky yesterday until my rear fender broke and started hitting me in the back every jump.

Learned that I’m out of shape, I need a lot more practice off-road and Uwharrie is hard on bikes!

You lucky you didn’t run across a bunch of slow jeeps at Uwharrie.

Let’s get together and run the Iron Mt trails sometime out of Damascus.

Gil Favor, here's a BaseCamp view of the Lolo Motorway. It's a great ride!

Yeah, I know that NOW, but didn't back then. I often regret the roads not taken, whether through ignorance or lack of time.

So many trails, so little time.
