I think “Private” means not county maintained. No gates, no ‘no trespassing’ signs and there are several properties and a retreat along the way.

We left Morganton at 1530 under blue bird and 65 degrees. At 1800, it was spitting rain and 52.

FYI about local forest service roads around Hwy 276
• Avery Creek FSR 477 (the upper portion, from the horse stable up to Hwy 276)
• Yellow Gap FSR 1206
• Headwaters FSR 475B
• Wash Creek FSR 5000
• Bent Creek FSR 479 (from Ledford Branch to Blue Ridge Parkway)
I emailed the FS last week and got back this on 1/27:
All of those roads are currently closed due to potential damages from the effects of freeze and thaw. As we see the weather continue to fluctuate, I would anticipate these roads staying closed for as long as we continue to see those conditions. If there is a stretch of time in which dry and warm weather remains stable, they may be reopened. Typically these roads are able to safely reopen, and stay open, in March or April.

Would you mind giving some GPS tracks for this trip, or a little more detail on the route? I am trying to find everything and stitch it together but I'm not having much success. Thanks!

What do you mean "drank again"?
I thought once you drank it, you were in for life. :D
I drank mine in 2001, (1992 if you count my Penton) haven't been a day without one since.
Did you do a fly and ride?

What's the out West photo story?
Congrats on the new bike.

Believe it or not, that’s right here in my backyard. That’s Moore’s Wall right here in Hanging Rock. Actually smalls78 gave me a tip that his neighbor was looking to sell, and next thing I know...
