Wow! Good choice Cheap!
how you been Extreme?!
Plotting my next ride and camp. Bored in Florida.
Cool thing is there’s someone intimately familiar with each of those areas ^^^ in this thread. 2 of them I know well, 3 I sort of know, 1 I’ve sniffed, and 2 I know nothing (I think). Exploring is fun!
Doing good. Jeep driving instead of motorcycle riding, but still enjoying every FS road and trail I can find. Enjoy seeing what you all are doing and riding!
I’ve ridden and explored a lot between Tellico Plains and Bryson City and I’m going more North and east next trip.
If you end up near Maggie give me a shout if you want to ride together.
Will do. Can anyone comment on Parson Branch rd between 129 and Cades Cove is it a one way? In Gaia it shows some arrows like it's one way southbound only. I'd like to ride south to north Rich Mountain Rd and to Townsend through Cades Cove. That whole section looks amazing on topo maps.
PB is 1-way out of CC, but I’m pretty sure it’s still closed (I think since 2017)
Parsons Branch is one way going N to S and quite frequently closed.
Ok thanks. Good intel.
I think Parson's Branch has been permanently closed.
Although I am hoping that the new funding bill for the National Parks will include enough money to get Parson Branch re-opened.
getting to it seems pretty brutal with the 10 mph stop and go traffic through the Cove....
Can’t like that ^^^ enough times.
Gotta get there early in the morning when the traffic is light. That road is worth the wait when it is open.
I’ve never had too much trouble in the off season, and can usually get around vehicles parked in the middle of the road if the tourists stop to look at the deerz
I live a lot closer than you and I don't go. I wonder what time of the morning? I thought it was 100% closed.
I went through there once. Parsons Branch is nice, and it brings you out on Deal's Gap, but ay caramba, the traffic in Cade's Cove was awful. The heat and exhaust made me woozy.
I recall the ride along Little River being great.
The park is great. There is a reason so many people visit it, but the traffic is terrible. I would save my early morning, traffic dodging time for Deal's Gap or Davenport.
