Looks like a good area for a camping and riding weekend. Looking at G-maps I see Timberlake Campground. Did you see any other campgrounds or dispersed sites around that area?

Finally got a chance to get West of AVL, ran @JRowland 's tracks. My favorite part after the below water crossing, fun little rocky section. What's the Southern part of 288 like? Anyone know of a mostly gravel route between Alexander or Marshall to Fines Creek or Spring Creek? Would love to get out that way from Woodfin on mostly gravel or single lane country roads...

my house? :lol3 you can “disperse” inside the house, my front yard or anywhere over the 6 acres of pasture. I just mowed last week so all the copperheads got chased away (joking). I’ve seen the sign for TC millions of times but never paid any attention, I had it in my mind it was more for RV’s etc. tons of good riding over there, as most of you know.

Babyheads aka old 288 :clap Thanks for letting me know you tried some, hope you had fun. Here is my preferred route between Marshall and Spring Creek, fits what you are looking for well.

Speaking of connectors, here are two that are really one. This takes you from Cataloochee to basically Franklin. We’ve gone east to Horseshoe Rock from here and West to Needmore Rd. and beyond. Where the first ends the second begins they do connect just not on the map.

There are more trails on the reservation, once I ride the best loop to me I’ll post it. This is the “fast” way.

Part 2. I haven’t been able to skip the section of Highway yet, I’ll keep hunting unless someone already knows how?

IDK how to do it on gravel, but since my bikes top out at 50 :lol3 I try and avoid the 4 lane. Come down off of Dicks Crk, turn R on East Piney Mtn Rd, then L in South PMR, then R on 74 and do the U turn thingy, or if nobody is watching just ride thru the median. Headed east in 74, turn R on Barkers Crk and then bear R on Thomas Valley Rd. TV Rd runs into Old Bryson, turn L and then L on Conleys Crk.

With this awesome weather, I am enjoying pics and ride reports while I am away from the good stuff. Late last week and Saturday were no bueno.

This is a awesome RR. I am going out to TN for a friend's wedding in September, planning on renting a bike through RiderShare. I will definitely use this as reference. Cheers

I didn’t know that, thanks. I know about where you mean. We like Midnight Hole in Big Creek, it’s a good one too.

SHHHHHHH. But really, there are some awesome swimming holes in Big Creek. And if you go upstream a bit from midnight hole there is a great one that's a bit less crowded and farther from the trail.

so you guys swim in your Klims, or take a pair of shorts, or just jump in all natural and stuff? I’ve never seen any of these swimmin holes LOL. And it ain’t ‘cause I’m riding too fast.

I ride during the day Monday to Friday when the wife comes up with me and I find good spots to chill and swim. Then then I switch from bike to truck and she’s off her work calls around 4, load the cooler with some refreshments and go for a swim.

Got out with @Florida Lime today to chase some squiggly lines. Good ‘ol Ellijay and then Cullowhee Mountain, pretty much traffic free. The fun little section of 107 was bumper to bumper but 281, Charlie’s Creek, 215, and the Parkway were wide open. I was dragging parts quite a bit and had a ball.
