I completed the entire MABDR last July from North to South. We were able to stay in campgrounds the entire route without much effort. In PA there are several State parks along the BDR with OK facilities. Maryland has really nice parks that are within 20 miles of the BDR. The state parks get nicer going south and less expensive. I think they were around $30 a night in PA. IN WV we camped outside of Peterstown at a private campground, along the south branch of the Potomac, for $20 for all three tents. By the time we were in VA we ended up camping in a Nation Forest Service camp ground outside of Warm Springs the day we did Section 3.. We were able to complete section 2 the next day and stay in a private camp ground along the New River. The Butler Map was excellent for finding camp grounds.

From 250 it's 614 Cowpasture River Rd to Nelsons Draft Rd to Sugar Tree Rd and it comes out on 627 Scotchtown Draft Rd

It was. 614 is paved up to a certain point. Nelsons Draft and Sugar Tree are basically gravel two track.

This was a awesome road this morning south of Locus Gap. Top is a little bit of gravel. Coming down is intense. I came from north by Roan Creek Campground.

Also stoked to have picked up a house sitting gig for my friend in Bryson City for 3 weeks starting end of sept. Will be nice to ride without all the camping crap on the bike.

never heard anything else about going west Sunday. If you want to ride up to Danbury and up in to VA, come on.

I think I can swing that. Let me see how much I get done today. Got to do the lawn and chores, can't get away from that.... Also need to get to the shop and order some tires, my original TKC 80s are nearly toast, well the rear anyway.
Where can we meet up and what time?

ETA: Fair warning. If you have a GPS I'm going to go into 8 year old kid question machine mode... :D

I'm in the same boat. I'm gonna go to work this morning for a few hours then see how I feel. But I'll let you know this afternoon.

Very nice. Suprising I've never owned one. I like the whole penton/ktm story. Bankrupt to being the top of the line mx bike. I do restore older machines as a hobby. Here's one I'm working on. It was traded to me for a set of truck tires.. from its grave to its former glory.. IMG_2232.jpg
