It was, but I decided to give it back.:-)

Darn fat fingers, must've eaten too much mashed potatoes and gravy yesterday.

I think it is open all year - weather permitting. Snow or ice closes it at times though....

Thanks. This time of year, it's usually pretty cold up there regardless of precip.

You mountain boys pretty much own the scenic photo franchise. Here in the lowlands it is beaches, cultural oddities and the occasional country store.

Rode a 240 mile loop on Sunday to try out some cold weather gear. I came across this old store, and later found the best $3 cheeseburger east of I-95 at Randy’s country store and grill near Dunn.

Kudos for the Eastern NC contribution @RickNC . We lack the curves and elevation changes, but you can ride a lot of lonely miles out east. I made a 300 mile or so ride out to Columbia on Saturday, much of it nice and peaceful. Maybe this winter we'll have to post some more ride pictures as our season rolls on - and our mountain fella's are holed up in their cabins looking at snow :lol3.

    I'm all for $3 cheeseburgers though! :D

We had some great weather for late November here in the foothills over the weekend. I met up with a local fb adv group and we had a nice ride yesterday!

I lived in South Carolina for 8 years. 2 in Bluffton and 6 in Charleston. I did not ride a motorbike then but I'm planning to go back and ride some of that stuff this winter and spring. Specially when those pines start popping. Francis Marion, and all those coastal backroads, beautiful! A little south of where you are but you probably have same kind of turf or close to it. You are right, the miles would come quick but that is part of the fun.

My brother came in to town for Thanksgiving, purchased a new 2022 KLR 650, and asked me to create a route that would highlight some goodness of WNC. I really like this day ride route that starts & ends in Black Mountain. If you aren't from the mountains here, this is a really fun ride that provides endless options for eating, drinking, old general stores, excellent gravel, beautiful pavement, etc. I modified the route a bit from our actual track due to a navigation error on my part.

Pictures don't do it justice at all - just a few shots were taken during the day.

I used to visit McClellanville often and spent a lot of time riding the Francis Marion NF. I really enjoyed it, awesome low country scenery. Here lately I've been thinking about going back, this would be a good time of the year for that area.

I love those lonely miles… Sometimes you get to a flat lonely crossroads and it is like a scene from a movie. You can either sell your soul to the devil for a few guitar licks(Crossroads) or hope some hot looking country girl in a old pickup will stop to give you directions you didn’t ask for (Castaway).

I can't speak for @CheapB , but I have a similar box and tankbag on my Scrambler.
I carry the usual odds and ends, but this time of year it's so I have room for taking off layers, and lighter weight gloves as the day warms up. :D

:lol3 I kinda wondered the same. I had just enough room for some extra space to shed layers like FloridaLime mentioned and for spare gloves and snacks and water and I also keep my rain gear handy if needed.

Since you've had the T7 for a while, has it satisfied the itch for a 1200 Scrambler ?
