I well remember the vivid blue of glacier fed lakes from my time in Jasper, AB. If you need a little pick me up just jump in one.:lol3

Those panoramas of the roads in the last set are awe inspiring!

    Thank you my friend.

Your photography and Egle's prose, individually, are pure magic! Combined they become mesmerizing.
Thank you for the pleasure and education you give me.

Whew! What a fantastic ride report! I found this thread about a month ago and have been binge reading ever since! It's like a never ending series of rabbit holes for me. I read about something that Paul and Egle have seen and then I go read more about it. Guatemalan Civil War, Oradour-sur-Glane, Cuba, etc. I've even been to the Yamaha dealer to check out a new Super Tenere!

Paul, it looks like we were in the same places at the same times a few times. I was in Crete when you were there. I absolutely LOVE Crete. I was in the Air Force at the time and spent some time there. Looks like we were in Moab at the same time too. I retired from the Air Force last year. I've been obsessed lately with getting out of the Matrix. HA! My wife is interested as well. Our daughter is getting older and will be moving out in a few more years. It would be the perfect time to sell everything and get a bike! Having an Air Force retirement is perfect for a RTW trip. Thanks for getting me dreaming again!

Excellent post. The only hard mile on your dream ride will be the first mile out of the driveway. Then you're sailing.

I've been a long time lurker and a great admirer of your photography. What a pleasure to follow you along!!!
It seems a common theme among riders who are doing blogs like this, to feel as if the posts they are putting up are worth their time and I can understand it, so please note, there are people who follow along that just chirp up.
I will do so more frequently as it really is worth it to read your report(i'm only on page 137...)
Thanks to you and Elge for your efforts in making this a world class RR, people all over the globe are watching/reading etc.

It's easy to read along and enjoy, and forget to 'like' the posts. I find myself guilty of this once and awhile.
Thanks Paul for sharing - over and over - your story is always fresh and wonderfully photographed, and perfectly written.

Forgot to reply to this - we are in the same basic area he is missing in, he was riding from Puno to Lima we were riding the opposite direction, but if you put that on google maps and zoom in the options for tracks (he's on a DRZ) are almost limitless. I spoke with his sister and told her we would look and ask around, but we have had nothing positive. She messaged me back and told me now Interpol is on the case, but yet to turn up any leads that was about a week back...will keep looking,

really hope he is just in a Puebla drinking Pisco sours and there's just no wifi, it is a DRZ and his stator could have fried so he could be stranded, a common problem
