I just want to pass it on to those who haven't watched it. Good stuff!
awesome country. how far from albequerque is this? i may end up relocated there.
10 miles west of Albuquerque Westside and Rio Rancho.
There is also some great trail riding in the East Mountain area on the backside of the Sandia and Manzano mountains, 15 miles east.
Rain yesterday, good dirt today!
Here are a couple more from today's ride.
e spent the afternoon on a Motocross track East of the Puerco drainage area. I don't know who built it but it is a nice track. Lots of turns and jumps, short choppy straights, The sand still has some moisture, one mile around. Fun day! The FX 350 is a great bike.
A few more from the MX track.
This is a little bit off topic since yesterday's ride was east of town in the Cedro Peak area rather than west in the Rio Puerco. Variety is the spice of life, after all. We parked in the Coyote trailhead parking lot south of Tijeras and did a 30 mile loop connecting a few different trails. There are hundreds of miles available in the area. So last Saturday in the high desert sand, Monday on the MX course and trail riding yesterday with Big John. A good week!
Here are 2 more from yesterday's East Mountain trail ride.
So this weekend I went a bit farther West of Albuquerque, about 85 miles west, actually. I spent the weekend doing the NMOHVA 7 Trails of Gold off-road event, centered in Grants, NM. Great weekend of riding in an area I hadn't explored. A couple of 70 mile plus days just scratched the surface. I posted dome pics on the event thread here:
Just to get you going I will repost one here as well.
Zuni Red Rock
What a great area. A little of everything. I missed an opportunity to ride out there a few years ago. Wish I had made it. Nice bikes!
We rode the Puerco area yesterday, all dried out now, no brown dirt, just sand. The MX track wasn't quite as much fun so my brother in law and I rode some of the trails, great riding, as alway. Here are some pics. Yeah, I know, it just looks like more sand! LOL
