This place is unique. I often catch it when no one else camps here.

I'll hear a vehicle every 5 to10 minutes at the busiest. No noise. No RVs. Just quiet. The sound of Thai spice steam from my ears.

A dozen or so sleep spots on Vanessa's land. Both sheltered and unsheltered.

    I'll upload some photos tomorrow.

She has a new sauna bldg. Last year it was being rebuilt. The previous year it was working. I just took a showa in there with non-heated water. I hear all the jokes about shrinkage. Can't shrink less than zero. Ha. The Thai spice heated the water nicely, tho.

After several nights staying in places where I felt less than welcome, it's nice to be welcome here.

She does make it a welcome oasis for the moto traveler.
Envious of your Jen's Thai dinner.
What was the wine of choice? My preference for pairing with Thai is a good spatlese or auslese Riesling.
I think Jen needs a sticker to compliment the TECMC sticker...something like "I'm not a ****y, I ordered extra hot at Jen's Thai in Tok, AK"

I would normally get a properly chilled Chard with my shrimp pad thai. My pallet doesn't do ambient chard.
Just scored a cab, instead. Mondavi was the best choice where I shopped. Just didn't know if the 17 was any good. Settled on the 16. It was adequate. Definitely not the wine for this dinner.

That last sector was very smokey. Like riding on Mars. Slightly different temps and altimeter settings, tho.

Saw the typical amount of moose-age on this ride.

I still think they are the most graceful animal in the brisket species. Yum.

In Fairbanks. Smokey up here, too. Maybe that much needed rain will arrive soon. Sucks for riding in, good for putting out them fires. My vote is for rain.

UAF dorms no longer easy to register. You must submit in writing 2 weeks prior to your stay. I can't predict that far ahead, nor can I count to two. I always put the three first.

The form must include blood type, preferred music, and how many years you thought the moon landing was faked. It has to be copied in triplicate on one of those wheel things with the chemically smell. In that blue color.

That can be bypassed if you get an autographed big mac from Alec Baldwin portraying the big guy in the northeast.

Found a spot. In my bed tonight. That little cabin I was in was a bit small for me. Still was very peaceful.

Weather will dictate my timing/decision to roll to Coldfoot.

I wonder if there is, or ever was, a Coldpaw, AK. Hmmm.

    Still mesmerizing.
I think I need one of these.

Checking the weather. Checking it twice.
The internet has ruined the word 'naughty'.

Gonna chill in Fairbanks t'day. Kate wants fresh oil. Her odo is 6K and change.

    Thai lunch (Mayhem's recommendation)
    Fresh fish for dinner.

    Yum.

Then ease up to the land of chilly feet. Maybe have brunch?

That Thai in Tok is good and Eagle Claw is an awesome place too! I took the ambulance! Comfy.

    Very groovy!

I'm not brave enough for the ambulance. Not sure what kind of dreams I would have. Worry I'd wake up with that stupid cone on my head, again. I hate those cones. Unless they're filled with beer.

That stinks about the UAF forms. We have stayed there many times in the past. With all of the budget cuts I would think this would be a revenue source for them, guess not.

I enjoyed my stays there. I probably have been 10 times. Really liked it. Loved the kitchen and the ice cream machine in main lobby. Bummer.

    2nd cup of Starbucks coffee.

Last few days, were, uhmm, creepy.

Stayed two nights where my dog senses told me not to.

Don't really plan my ride much, because I don't know where I will be more than two days ahead. I wing it mostly.

Until this year, I enjoyed my time in Fairbanks. Not this year, yet.

Airbnb saved the day, once again. I hate hotels. They are not human-able. Booked a few comfortable nights on my way back from Coldfoot. I need my quality Fairbanks time.

Rolling to Coldfoot. In a bit.
I'll snap some pictures without food.
    Some with.

Weather is less smokey today. Yay! Hopefully that's a result of lack of fire.

    Kate got new oil. Delish.

Super fresh sockeye, my fave spice, and an ok chard to match. Love my camping utensils. Waiting for the oven to preheat.
