This is motivating me. There is a good coffee shop near Independence CA I need to go visit and it's a short ride from Central TX.

Alarm goes off this morning. 8ish. Hit the snooze. A hundred times. Quiet area to sleep, yay!

I just use my ring tone as an alarm. You probably already guessed my ring tone.

    La la dog, of course.

The most famous growling dog on my internet.

Got outta bed finally and was just sitting on the porch when my neighbor stopped by for a visit. Kids jammies are cool. Animals and things.

Packed up and chatted with my neighbors on the way over to Starbucks.

Their 'dog' is Not a yapper. Just a trembler. Her name is Tiny. We chatted a bit. She told me she liked the sun. Ditto, Tiny, Ditto.

She fit the tank bag perfectly.

Just need some tiny goggles and a safety harness. We both eat the same food, so she would make a great co-pilot.

    In Starbucks. Drinking coffee.
Here in Kali, it's no where near the best breakfast to be had. Not why I'm here.

My weekly yoga pants quota had not been met. Now, I'm good for another week.

Rolling to Spokane Valley today. Not sure which path to take, but I'll go how my mood takes me.

Critic, I tried to make you proud, I was swaying to the left and right in cadence in Southern BC. Was singing the bus song. Hanging way off the seat to use off-center tread. That'd make for a silly yootoob.

It got toasty today. Took the short cut almost due west to Spokane Valley.

Found some nice, narrow utility roads.

    20190801_164443.jpg
Nice and cool up at the top.

Then rolled thru this ghost town...

    Wicked cool.

It'd be groovy to check out the inside of these obsolete industrial structures with one of those CSI flashlights.

Blasted 50 miles on I-90 to my exit. Don't think I seated the front tire perfectly in the bead. Has some jack-hammer handlebar vibes at 85mph.

I tested out my dental crown glue. Toofusses all still on there tight.

Most of the Conocos in MT have 91 no eth. Kate still has no ethanol in the tank. She had a nice mix of surfaces and temps today.

She's cool with me pampering myself these next two days here.

By the way, Kudos to the Kalispell KTM dealer. Penco Power Products!
They hooked me up with all of my needed goodies and did so with their consistent pleasant and professional style.

    Thanks!

Starting now, the Dave pampering begins.

Been here before. A few things I've learned.

I like Spokane Valley for the arid and warm weather, no moskies, several good choices for Dave dining.

Rolled into the Spokane Valley KOA. Checked the tent area. Rented two nites. Assembled the house. Then hopped on naked Kate and braaaped over to a good restaurant.

    Hay J's Bistro.

If your wallet approves, you Will thank me later.

Very unassuming location, you would miss it getting gas next door.

There's a reason the wait is usually 20 minutes or more.

Dog on the bike goes ruff ruff ruff..... left and right, left and right.....

Alaska 1_0062a.jpg My traveling companions to Alaska in 0'79, Richie and Bear dog. Now that I think about it, Bear has a lot in common with you! This was Bear's 2nd trip up on a Moto. He did one more later, when his owner got out of prison.

Sorry if I have attached this in past RR! But it brings back memories.

    Like that pic.

Dare I ask about that prison thing? Is it ADV safe?

We also need a picture of Desmo on this ride report. Please. :-)

I believe substance abuse was the issue. Bear did not talk about it in detail. :-) Actually, Desmo is connected to and rides with someone else. Barking Charlie, Mad Max the cat and his aunt Liza the rodent killer live here, while Astound and Butters live at the stables. Ginger has not been seen since the 1st day of hunting season last year. IMG_0754.jpg Ginger & Liza
Ginger showed up one day, when I was working on Moto at the barn. I got a call from my wife, " there is a deer that keeps trying to come in the house" Then ginger came out to see what I was doing. She would stop by now and then.

    Cool animals!
It's neat that we name animals and they all just call us "hey!"

Slept with the top down. Noice.

If you're on a tall bike you'll need duck yo head to get there.

    In Missoula MT drinking coffee.

    Googling Bacon and Formula 1.

Two Day ride to another wonnerfull sleep spot near the GS drop zone in Utah.

The halfway point tonite will be near Idaho Falls.

Googled a few isolated sleep spots near there.

It'll be even more scenic today (for me) because my Garmin Montana is having, um, issues.
So I probably won't playing tetris on it whilst on the boring stretches.

I'll be riding through a town named Salmon. Yum

Salmon River Road out of North Fork is a pretty ride out to the confluence of the main Salmon and North Fork. I like watching the hardcore rafting folks launching from there. Nothing challenging ride-wise, and on a weekend there may actually be some tourists. Probably no bacon along the way. Ah, nevermind.

Thanks for the routing tip, but just checked the phone in Salmon getting gas. Already passed it. Lots of hwy93 road construction near there.

    Mmmm bacon.

I grabbed the phone while gassing in Salmon. A skosh past 5 local time.
    I was a bit hungry.

    Sundays are pasta night.
