    Bogbob1,

Smoke cleared after 100km north of Whitehorse, but visible fires just south of Dawson City.

It was nice chatting with you, also.

    Ride well!

Stopped at the local KTM store before omelette acquisition.
    20190708_082619.jpg
    I inquired about motorex products.
They said, "whatchu talkin' about, Willis?"
    Nevermind, just looking.

Not impressive, but I needed medicine.
    20190708_084346.jpg

    Totally tore that up.
Now, having coffee, grooming my paws.

    Had nice weather rolling here.
Dirt was smooth. Packed. Dusty at times.

    Sun until last 100km.

    Looked iffy for a while.

Stopped at 180 on the odo. Dumped the spare 5 liters in. Kept rolling. Moskies were typically vicious
Gassed up when I got here. 260 miles on 17 liters. Noice.

Not many motos parked outside. Must have missed the rush.

Got a sleep spot outside. Jurassic Marlboro toker warranted me to relo three spots away. Smell ya later. No moskies around that tent. They vaped diesel smoke, also.

    Was nice mello ride.
Not many motos at Eagle Plains.
Two new dogs. They checked me out. Did a quick high paw, then I went to score a sleep spot. (Aforementioned cigarette fumes)

    Weather determined my route.
Back in Dawson City. Like now.

    This morning at EP.
    20190709_120328.jpg
    Motos started arriving noonish today.
    Lots of bicycles.

    20190709_083111.jpg

Warm morning sun. Moskies weren't bad.

    Was dry overnight. That'll change.

    In the bar. Eldorado Hotel.
    2nd fishbowl of chard.

Server remembers me from my complaint of microwaved food 2 nights ago. Not good. Gave me the stink eye.

    The game's afoot, Trebek!

Bring out my wallet. She's not looking, I stuff napkins in there like a boss.

That thing is throbbing on the table.
    We're talking lift and separation.
Massive Credit Card Toe. Girl at the bar glimpses over, 5 seconds of staring, she can cut glass.

No effect on the server. Darn.

I ordered something that was microwaved already.

    Nachos!

Sure hope I don't get an explosive decompression on deck 9 later.

Multi-rider group next to my sleep spot.
    Great. Just great.

As expected, they get up before Jesus and talk loud.

    I'm out of bed, now.

Discovered a cool looking spot for breakfast. Hope it's OK.

Day off from riding. Gonna chill in Dawson City. Very groovy.

    Smokey today.

The wine is so so. The food not Merge-worthy.

Looking forward to good Thai in Tok, tomorrow. Never disappointed with Jen.

Goofed off all day, cleaned the riding suit ready for tomorrow's rain.

I'll properly start my day tomorrow at Alchemy, again.

Started the day right. Couple of morning rain showers. Slept to 9.
No loudies. No car horns. No RVs.

Wanted to start the day with good food.

Alchemy. Nice cafe. My soul needs this.

My three very disappointing evening meals are not typical of Dawson City. It happens.

I bounced out of my house. Sniffed the air. Two random barks. Watered a tree. Motored over here.

    Cool gray sky.
    20190711_101137.jpg

Dressed appropriately. A turtleneck and boxers. Looks silly with the moto boots.

Merge made it back across the border.

Merge Johnson from Texas, huh? Sounds made up.

I get that a lot, sir.

    Standard questions. Hadn't researched. :-o
I missed two. There were 3.

Mr. Johnson, roll Kate into the inspection lane. Funny how he knew the name of my ride. Snap go the nitrile gloves. Great, another interview.

    Open the tank bag.

    Is that a blunt?

    No sir, it's a spliff.

    What's the difference?

    The spelling?

Do you understand our federal laws about transporting a comfortable substance?

    Confiscates said spliff.

Open the side cases, Mr. Johnson.

    Yes sir.

I stored some fresh danishes and pastries from my breakfast place an hour earlier.

We're gonna have to confiscate these pastries. With the freshly lit doob in his hand.

Long look at me. Deep inhale. Took a big bite of a strudel and mouth of smoke mumbled, these are really good. You're cleared to enter. Ha a gu da.

    Yes sir.

Woolsey Creek Bistro for Dinner and Le Baguette for an awesome breakfast.
Here’s my son about to feast on the beef shank from Woolsey.

You know I'm kidding about the border crossing.

That really didn't happen that way.

Eagle Claw sleep spot. Cabin with nice view.
Gonna rain cats and mice tonight and tomorrow. Don't wanna pack my house wet.

De-luggaged Kate and buzzed to the wine store and Jen's. Ordered two Pad Thai wif shrimps.

Picture of cabin and food here.
(Mobile signal not fast here, on my phone.)

Carefully eased back to the cabin. Vanessa stopped by. I paid my cabin fee. We chatted. Caught on current events.

The other Pad Thai dinner was for her. :-)

New cook at Jen's. Still a family member, but I didn't recognize him. He questioned me about my extra spicey request. I knew this was going to be good.

I'm only half through. I'm crying. No bugs on me, now. I can defrost a car.

    Still Delish!
