How about some location captions, Unc.
Yeah, don't worry about the ones of Nareen. Reckon we got that.

Reckon we're all old enough to remember that Mal and Tammie used to live there.

I can't come up with a smart arse response without being a bit offensive to aged conditions that we may be approaching.

    Well, not while I'm typing.

Keith, where are ya when ya needed?

    Paul?

    Anyone?

@UncleGra ..... Nice trip Gra, how's the bike going? what size fuel tank are you running on it?
I notice you are running StegZ, I have fitted a set to my Sherco, they are fantastic.

@trokel Thanks for the memories Troy, I had forgotten about that trip to 3 mile dam, but my bike was there so I must have been, as I remember, I introduced Ray's Irish mate to SPAM.
Yep, 2009 trip to Marysville just after the fires, was basically the 'Birth date' of the R.O.A.R.

Re: my attempt to do the Finke in 2021....
After an accident back in October, where the Doctors were amazed my neck wasn't broken, I am rethinking idea; however, I am keen to take on the CONDO 750 & the Sunraysia rally, both navigational rallys, so I need to get myself one of the map roller towers??? (I believe, UncleGra might have some experience with these????)
Been out training on the Sherco a bit lately, fantastic beast (too much power for me) but tight single track and hard enduro type riding isn't for me.
Trying to keep up with my son and his mates on single track, is ridiculous.

A comfortable bike loaded up Dobbo..big on power.
Stupid 13 ltr tank, 27 km/ltr for me. I carry 2 x 5 ltr jerries in the panniers.
Stegz are a good thing, I get to use them a bit.
An f2r roadbook and maps I make up myself keep me entertained. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...pt/RB730-000&usg=AOvVaw2niZh5WM7pKYJ0OJDky9lG
I've helped out with the control points for the 3 the Sunraysia Rallys. It's a great event, you should do it.

Make sure you let us know when those rallies are on Dobbo. If you don't need someone to fill the bike for you, some here might just like to come along and have a watch, if available.

I've been up to my usual antics. All concentration went into getting the tiger on to three wheels. Figured I'd put all the stuff on it afterwards as it would be lighter to manage in the interim. Much time tightening and loosening various bolts, squeezing under the thing, actually not quite squeezing under the thing to do this and that up, cutting bolts that were too longs, multiple trips for bits etc.
I got it on, all buttoned up.
    Quite pleased.
    What's next?
    :doh
    The headers.
    Which should've been on first.
    :baldy

    You can laugh now.
    And point.

Covid inspired sale - got that one wrong :shog Was just going to run with the DR for the duration of the pandemic................2 road bikes later :lol3:lol3

This one is 2017 and has a few upgrades over the 2014 - lighter clutch, cornering ABS (may be I needed that a month ago!!) etc

DR is a write off :muutt so I will sell off various parts and wheels from the stash.

I know all about your 'proper maps'. :jack
I reckon your route sheets do fulfill the oft repeated advice I was given, whilst still in the coppers, "Don't sweat the detail" and "once you've got it worked out to about 60%, get on with it".

Maps to adventure, is what they are. Never quite sure how far before you become lost. And you love to tell the story of Dobbo's navigation through the scrub (which we all like to re-hear. I think even Dobbo might be a bit proud of that effort).

However, none of can ever say we've been lost. Always had enough juice between us to find some more, which is the best point about the whole show.

    Next time...
I know that I have to take the engine apart again, to fit the cam chain guides. May be done soon.

I got the new front master cylinder into the Sprint, yesterday. Waiting for the fairing halves to come back from the plastic welder, give it a good solid clean and polish and see if I can't move it on. $ for the others in the garage.
