Canadian Press is reporting that travel restrictions in Yukon will loosen up July 1 and may loosen up in NWT in near future:

“Non-essential travel to the three territories has also been largely prohibited, although Yukon has said restrictions will lift with B.C. in July and the Northwest Territories government has indicated some changes to their rules are coming.“

Not really any details but I’d be surprised if there are no self isolation requirements, which effectively kill a motorcycle vacation.

honestly I would not go even if the governments allow as you may run into local Bands that will not provide services (i.e. GAS).. .to people outside the area... in their effort to protect from the COVID 19

Most of the Fraser Canyon bands in BC have keep out signs.

There is systemic racism in Canada by law. Think reservations, hunting rights, healthcare, education, firearms, and so on. Trying not to get political, just making an observation.

OKay guys, Let's keep this to motorcycles please. The last place I need to get an inaccurate education about the history of indigenous relations in Canada is Advrider- or at least start separate thread for it.

I would be surprised if the Territories are going to allow folks visit without a 14-day quarantine any time soon.

Some people in Banff have recently expressed concerns about Americans using the "Alaska Loophole" to visit their town: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calg...ka-nina-stewart-michael-buxton-carr-1.5610417

The Yukon has an express Alaska transit exemption that is limited to 24 hours, with all non-essential travel to rural communities strongly discouraged. Will be interesting to see if Yukoners report clandestine US tourists in the coming weeks as opposed to people legitimately using the transit exemption to reach Alaska.

Does that push it to august? Doesn't matter to me anymore. I have decided that I am going in 2021.

I think that pic was in 2015, and if I remember right it was some nutty lady with 3 dogs roasted her tire on the Dempster south of Eagle Plains, None of the spares she had fit? I saw her in Eagle Plain, then in Dawson later that week. I think.

I was hoping to make another trip north next year but thinking farther out now. Reason why is, at a board meeting tonight and we were talking about our big fundraiser which is February every year. We are contingency planning as it might be put off if things are still bad. Let's hope this Covid thing has petered out by next summer and we can get on with things.
