Geez. Eagle Plains is not a spot I would want to spend a winter.
About the same as spending a few months in a nursing home, everyday the same.
Hopefully they gave her a job, it would be something to do.
She says she got work housekeeping. Presumably at the motel.
I love stories like this and the BikeWanderer who rode bicycle solo the entire length of the Canol Heritage Trail then floated down the McKenzie River till he intersected the Dempster Hwy below Inuvik.
All self contained. He floated down the McKenzie on the same little backpack raft he used to cross the rivers on the Heritage Trail.
Wow. That was incredible. Thanks for posting.
That was awesome, the guy is insane but still awesome.
I think it was just a tad warmer than that when I was there, but not much
My kitchen window yesterday morning ...
My wife is a Kiwi and this is the first year in many we have not gone to visit the family in NZ and Oz.
Of course, they sent us the weather forecast of what we are missing.
However, to be fair, it was very nice this weekend in Vancouver Island and we did get out on the little bike for a ride in the hills.
Bloody Hell, New Zealand, -7 in Hope, BC, Canada right now. Although I did a little riding last week at 7 positive. My dumb nephew is at -40C in Fort MacMurray right now.
Hes not that dumb making good money!
Two wheels Magadan to Yakutsk in winter. Find your language under CC.
Yowsa, It might be colder, I think -40 is the default for the Temp Sensors
I used to live in Hinton, Alberta for one winter.
It feels colder here at -2 than the -30 up there. Damp.
Lol....had an awesome musk ox burger right there close to that sign ! The pics i have of the sign show much better weather for a old fat guy on a motorcycle !!
Yup, had the same plus some Muktuk. Was +1 with a wind. So nice out!! Granny was nice enough to let us eat in the Porch. Couple of California Kids had gone swimming in the Bay. Silly kids!!!
Its easy getting around up there now that its frozen,,, and no mosquitoes either... Ha...
Must watch out for musk ox on the road,,, their not too friendly this time of year...
It was pretty cold here last week, but we made it through. Feel sorry for the folks down in Texas that aren't used to the sub zero temps they are getting.
