May I ask why? Just curious. Thx.
The ride to Tuk. Started this ride on June 24th, 2019.
I also no longer support MEC. They are supporters of political pressure groups that I don't agree with.
Thanks for the link, looking forward to reading it.
Now I'm curious about the political stuff...
MEC is anti oil (even though most of what they sell is nylon/plastic and not made here) and
anti hunting (they dropped Camelback because its parent company owned a firearms company).
Shee - it! Iffin I knew that, I would have kept up my membership.
Once a member, always a member. I've been tempted to ask for my $5 back.
I was curious too. Didn't like their stand on the Camelback thing. Guess I should not shop there as well, but then I should not spend my tourist dollars south of the border either seeing as they are causing us lots of grief. At least that is what CBC is telling me.
Gee turned Tuk into a political discussion.
It's a good read, Kinda shows what it takes and what happens when you least expect it.
My wife is a pretty avid supporter of MEC. Reading this politico nonsense, think I might get on board with that now too.
Like the man said.
And to think I was going to send them a backpack for repairs. I still might have to as the German manufacturer won't return my emails.
Yes, dangerous territory we're (not) entering here. It's a tightrope MEC has to walk, give back to their members, the country and the planet. Every project any company supports will anger some and please some. At least they're not trying to close riding areas (REI).
Do a little more research. MEC supports groups like the Nature Conservancy of Canada that are trying to shut motorized users out of the back country.
Sorry guys for turning the thread down this road.
I have been trying to find out who they support financially and can't find it online.
If you have a link it would be appreciated
Didn't find much evidence of supporting the abolition of motorized off road in those links, although some might be inferred by the associations.
You fellas done?
The NCC is against motorized rec.
We got punted out of the Dark Woods area for trying to ride on the FSR's on our dualsports
