I am interested in joining a team or forming a new one for the May ride. Not a veteran at this stuff by a long shot...just looking to have fun and survive.
Spring is, sort of, here. We are six weeks away from the Roaming Rally. Behind the scenes we have been working hard designing the route and sorting logistics. In a week or two we'll be sending out an email to the folks who registered with a bunch of information (camp locations, an over view of the route, etc). It looks like a great turnout this year with 30+ trucks and as many bikes. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new folks. If anyone is on the fence about joining us, now is the time to register as we need to close registration soon. The truck route is looking like a 2.5 day route of trails and backroads. The trails are not meant to be full of obstacles but rather "overland" style. No doubt mother nature will provide a few splashes and hurdles along the way. The bike route is a classic Roaming Rally style one. Lots of flowing two track and backroads with a few challenges here and there to keep it interesting The bikes will use alot of the same trails/roads as the trucks, with a handful of more challenging or narrow trails.
Thanks. "Over the Hill" team is looking forward to this event. Some of us may be staying in lodges/motels for the night instead of camping so if there are other riders feeling the same way (hard shelter, a bed, dry place to hang your stuff, real shower etc) please let me know so we can pick the same place.
Just a few more weeks and we'll be sitting around a campfire after an awesome day of riding at the Roaming Rally Classic Edition! If you haven't signed up, DO IT...DO IT!
Received the email. Looks like fun! Any suggestions for parking a truck and trailer for the weekend? Thanks; Tony
Folks have made arrangements with Rideau River PP to leave trucks there when they check-in when we have stayed there before.
An email went out to everyone who registered for the Roaming Rally Classic Edition in May. If for some reason you did not receive it, please get in touch. If you are thinking of joining us, it's not too late to register! IT'S ALMOST MAY!!!
Anyone looking for teammates for the Roaming Rally May 24-26? We have a single rider looking to either form a team or join an existing one. If so, contact me and I'll put you in touch.
If anyone needs a luggage solution for the Roaming Rally, I have a brand new AltRider Hemisphere saddle bag... It's so new, the tags are still on it. Money talks! But please, be reasonable. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/altrider-hemisphere-saddlebags Although I am not signed up, I do hope to have a bike in time and I may just drop in to hear bullshit stories around the campfire.
Well, then. Guess the weather predictions for a dry spring in Eastern Canada were WRONG!!! Still super pumped to come up and play for a couple days. Water crossings and mud indeed! Bring your head nets and bug spray.
