The LC8 bash plates now comes with three mounting points if you need them.
The 950 SE mounts to the oil tank , motor & rear frame
And the Adv. also picks up the bottom engine mount if you want it.
I put a few holes in mine, it was the only way to control heat for me. Constant speeds, no problem, but tight trails or even worse, slow climbs, and my bike was cooking. Once I put a few strategically placed holes in it, no worries, I suspect the 640 just needed some airflow at lower speeds past the cases to remove excess heat. I can't vouch for others though, that was my own specific fix.
I have field tested the bashplate and it works, I still have a right foot with no broken bones.
Hi Matt, i PM'd you... cheers!
Could you please post a picture from the front of the 640 adv with the bash guard mounted?
Another PM - 690 Plate required!
That's a GREAT looking SE skidplate, and the best mounting set-up I've seen short of a full-blown Powercell-type conversion!
Whats a full-blown Powercell-type conversion ?
PowerCell's conversion is shown here:
I was just looking at that thread and its a good move relocating the oil tank as its in a stupid place down the front waiting to get ripped off.
I just picked a rock had rally bash plate for my 640 off one of the aussie inmates.
What a brilliant peice of kit.
Just wondering if you have considered another method of securing the lids I will probably change them to wings nuts for ease of access. seems a bit odd to me that you need to carry an 8mm to get into your tools in the tool box.
Perhaps some zeuss fasterners would work as well.
I know it comprimise security but it would be much easier.
KTM 990 Adv with a GPR 2 into 1 system
how much for SE? BTW: those things are BITCHIN'!
PM sent with all the details.
How much does one of your fine bash plates for the '07 990Adv cost me ?
Ill send a PM with all the details.
did you ever manage to put something together for the DR650?
Ill have something soon , Ive got to get my cuz's bike and Im going to do the bash plate and a set of rear tanks that you strap the soft panniers onto so theres no need for racks. Ill be fitting up a vacum pump to it as well so it can pump the fuel up to the carb.
Ive made a new tank for my 640 thats bolts onto RHS and holds 15.5L just got to get around to making one for the left side now.
Ill post up some pic's soon.
You got a pic of this one mounted on the 950 Super Enduro ??

And the powder coated version.
