Lowell Park Loop
I took my cruiser down to Dixon. I had a good ride. Next time I'll have to take the V-Sttom.
Very nice route, thanks for putting it together and making available!!
Just updated this track today after riding it on an awesome day of October colors. Added the Franklin Creek State Park Grist Mill and the Bison herd at Nachusa Grasslands.
Pics or it didn't happen
Updated track and added some pictures from today.
Fall colors are here. It would be a great time to check out this track again. The bison have been visible the last few times I have been by.
Just updated the track with some additional sporty roads. Also I updated a few of the service establishments that did not survive the economic downturn and added some new ones. Hey, Byron has a brewery now! My wife says I have a drinking problem but I seem to have no problem drinking. Nachusa Grasslands finished up the new visitor center last year and did a bang up job. Well worth the stop and now you have a much better chance of spotting that elusive bison herd. I think they are up to a little over 100 head now. The center has restrooms and cold fresh water from a hand pump. Mmmm- water that's not just good, it's well water. Here are a few snapshots;
Nice to hear byron has a brewery. One more spot to hit up. I have to laugh everytime I see your byron nuclear power station cooling tower picture. They dont seem as big when inside them.
Thanks for the tracks! Tried this route out today and had a nice ride. Had to get home for my son’s football game so I didn’t get to spend time at all the stops.
Looking forward to a nice fall day where there is more time to enjoy the destinations.
just found this. Looks really cool. Im from the Indianapolis area but drive a semi everyday to oregon to pick up a load of sand from the quarry on devils backbone rd. Thanks for sharing. I knew there had to be some some good riding around there.
I live in Dixon and thought I have ridden damn near all of the back roads around here but I have never seen that lime kiln in Polo.
Took a spin on this track over the weekend to check out the restoration work on The Eternal Indian statue at Lowden State Park. The multi year project was completed and unwrapped mid January this year.
You might want to visit before the political correctors source some dynamite. A great weather day for riding and the wood oven pesto pizza at Hairy Cow Brewery was delightful.
