Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, Bill. Maybe me, but I sometimes question riding when a lot is orbiting my noodle. Be safe, keep a clear head.

Enjoy your time with your family this weekend. :-)

    Dad came home yesterday.

He will be looked after by family and hospice while at home.

we are hopeful that he can regain strength after the light pneumonia clears. At least enough to walk a little.

    Tuesday ride with the club.

Tonight we rode ten miles south to the Loop in Orange Park, where the burgers are the best in town.

Eight riders, so a little on the light side tonight.

It belongs to Kevin, one of the club riders.

He bought it shortly after riding on a Sunday ride on a Chinese 150 that he thought could go 60 mph.

My GPS has it topping out closer to 50.

He wanted to drop out of the ride, as he was holding us up, but I encouraged him to stay with us as we rode at his pace.

He showed up the next week on this Kymco 300 GTI.

    That was five years ago.

As for the color, I would prefer it in black.

Or white, like I had in Naxos two years ago.

That Kymco was my 2nd choice after a Vespa GTS. The copper color is a no for me too in anything with an engine? cept maybe a MC tank.
Black lump has a bad "ring" colorwise...
R.e., the burger world- has anyone tried the new vegan BK burger?

I liked it so much that I looked seriously for one when we returned from Greece. It's biggest issue is no storage under the seat.
Not yet, but a Burger King is just two blocks from my office.

I usually stay away from the place, but may have to try one soon.

NYT's has a recent no meat, burger article showing like 6 choices... My vegan son ask the BK guy if they cooked on the same spots as the meat burgers thus stealing some flavor from the wire conveyor tasty bits.

My wife and I have tried not to eat or use any sort of meat - cows, pigs, chicken, turkeys, etc., for the past 50 years. We do eat fish. From long experience I can say that, unless you prepare all your own food or limit your restaurant choices to only the ones that fully agree with your choices, you will fail to some extent. There's chicken stock in almost everything. Lard in pie crusts, ham fat in baked beans, who knows what in soups and sauces, etc. If your son wants to be truly vegan he simply can not even think about places like BK for anything more than black coffee.

If you want to eat less meat, then buying a meatless "burger" is a realistic thing. I tried an "Impossible" burger a while ago and I was impressed that it was completely awful to me, maybe because it tasted and felt like meat which I hadn't experienced in forever.

I eat meat, but I also frequently get lunch at a local vegan restaurant.

More about taste and convenience for me than health or other concerns.

Eating out is literally a PITA for me. I'm cursed with needing to live on a Gluten Free diet, it sucks.
I do cheat occasionally , but pay the price whenever I do.
My wife has learned to cook a gluten free way for me over the years. She loves to bake and some of the recipe's she has come up with are stellar. Along with some monumental failures .
Have been considering trying the meatless offerings at BK in particular, but then I need to pass on the bun so it make for a less than appealing meal .

We get impossible burgers whenever we can. I like avoiding meat and these taste just like "real" burgers. WAY better than any other veggie burgers I've had.

I get my greens indirectly: cows eat the green stuff, I eat the cows. You don't get a body like this without maintaining it.

Russ organizes all of our rides and events. Today was a picnic type gathering at Pumpkin Ridge State Park.

Most of the attendees drove, but I rode Rocket as getting there it is a good route.

We had burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, banana pudding and lots of cookies.
