Thought I should start a new thread to get info out for the fall ride.
What: Dualsport ride, blacktop and alot of gravel, tent lodging and campfire
    Where: Central Illinois
    When: Sept 24, 25, 26
Who: anyone who can ride a couple hundred miles of gravel, sleep in a ditch, shit in the woods, read a map, find the farm, all without whining.

Send me a PM if you need more detail,
Camping is primitive, if you dont bring it, you wont have it.
I will supply fire, ice, water and dirt.

hope to see you all there

    cheers

While I've often taken the zx6 off the beaten path, and thoroughly enjoy throwing it around in gravel and dirt. That's not something I want to make a habit of. And traversing wet slimy rocks on half bald Pilot Sports is not something I'd likely be doing anytime soon :)

The DS is something I've been shopping for quite a while now. If I didn't have one, I'd end up just taking the extra days and exploring the smoky mountain roads more. But a DS ride in homestate would be wonderful.

99% chance. I am touring the UP the weekend before, and unfortunately being in Real Estate I work weekends. So, I need to sell some houses between now and then.

It takes about 4 hours to get to chain's farm -- Im sure he'll have routes going even further S/W but count on a good 4 hour drive/ride to the starting point.

I plan on trailering out there on that Friday AM...

simple, just make it business trip. you will have the opportunity to inspect potential recreational property for your well to do clients in the city.
you can even write off your beer and fuel expense.
