I signed up. I plan on bringing my WR250R and do the dirty ride. I am not new to this stuff but not a fast rider either. Will be looking to join in with an "old but slow" group. Please let me know if there is a group I can join in with. Will have track on my GPS.

    Bsheet,

I always wind up with a group of 5-6. I like to go fast, in spurts, but we usually just wait at the next turn for everyone to catch up (the dust always breaks us into 2s and 3s anyway,) and take lots of picture and smoke breaks. If you don't find anyone you want to ride with, youre welcome to tag along.

just curious but is this some kind of Rush tribute? (Roll the Bones is a Rush album and ghostrider (the OP) was the name of Neil Peart's book about adventure riding on his GS1100)

Apparently a newly uploaded file doesn't inherit sharing rights from the parent folder. RTB8-RallyRaid_Track.gpx should be visible now.

Anyone with a spare bed in their cabin? I will split the cost - if so, just PM me. X-posted on TWT.

The Rally Gods have spoken! In addition to just the right amount of rainfall in RallyLand this morning, the Barcalounger has also fallen from the sky. Folks, GET REGISTERED! This is gonna be a good one!

    - The Rally Raid is currently a relaxed 322 miles with a lot of dirt. :rofl Now that you bring that up, perhaps I should put in some work-arounds to increase the likelihood of making it back to HQ before midnight.
    - The Dirty Raid is 214 miles. Veriest told me that there is more pavement in this year's Dirty Raid and he feels is plenty doable for the little bikes.
    - The standard Paved Raid is 302 miles and the Long version is 353 miles.

Trying to decide on Rally Raid or Dirty Raid - I've got a standard tank on the 500 EXC - so maybe 120 mile range. Never been to Mary's and I'm a fan of CFS - so there's that...

There's plenty of fuel stops on the way if you're bold enough to hold that 500 wide open but it's gonna struggle to keep up on the street segments. The northern part is the longest stretch. Don't think there's any fuel from Bluff Dale to Strawn but that shouldnt be anywhere near your limit

I meant Dirty Raid actually. Thanks for all the info. I will be on a 500 and my buddy on a 450X. Another rider with us will be on a Versys 300, and he is fairly new to dirt. Do you think its doable without him hurting himself on that bike? I plan to load the route in my GPS so I can lead our small group at a slower pace so he doesn't feel like he is holding anyone up..
