Anyone use their iphone instead of a GPS for the GPX files?
I use osmnd app on my Android phone but I am sure the app should be available on iPhone as well. If osmnd is not available then check Locus Maps app.

Thanks - that's helpful. Dirty route is probably where I will end up. Just don't taunt me with your tails of how good the CFS was please.
For the iPhone, BikeGPX works pretty good with track files.
Some of the GPX files have multiple routes, and BikeGPX displays them all together, which can get confusing.
This can be easily be fixed with a text editor by removing a route or two from the GPX file, which is everything between a pair of tags named <rte> and </rte>

The numbers show the mileage.
If anyone thinks 320+ miles of mixed surface riding isn't enough for one day, they're nuts.
I'm still not seeing the rally raid track file.. only the route.
I e-mailed you all the tracks, did you not get them? The 2nd set of files I sent all work on Osmand Pro and Osmand free.
Distance between Dallas and San Antonio is 274 miles. Add 47 more miles and you’ve got the distance for the Rally Raid (321 mi).
Quite a long ride on a Dual Sport.
Yes sir. I found one on the side of the road about a month and a half ago. Told Dody about it and stored it out at the house. We now have two ! ! !
Booyah, dueling barca's!
Sounds like some Rally Raid bypasses are in order. I tried to create some yesterday and BaseCamp on my laptop calculated the routes incorrectly which has me concerned for its behavior on other peoples PCs. Anyway, I'm going to try and create the bypasses on another PC tonight. First I have to cram in some work stuff before my PTO day on Friday.
If your BaseCamp is doubling back like this about half way through the return leg of the Rally Raid then it's wrong...
I turned the route into a track, which I will follow.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's not to trust Garmin's routing - both on computer and on devices. What you see on the PC/Mac is not always what you will get on your device, as it is trying to "help" you. Garmin tends to shit the bed if you try to do anything interesting.
Here's the track I have of that area - based on the download 2 days ago FYI.
Registered with my Super Tenere. There going to be a group for me? Have only been on dirt a few times with it.
edit: not afraid to drop it either ;-)
Also, is checkin at the lodge or the campsites? Looks like there are multiple locations for Gus' on the map.
Just follow the big sign on 22,
Follow the signs into Gus' - then follow the red trail to the Highlighted area, they'll be bikes and people wandering around HQ.
Just set up, what’s the password for WiFi here at Gus’s
If I get down there early enough, I'm riding to lunch. I know LC won't be open for lunch Fri, but I have one of the older rib run routes from rtb4 if anyone wants it and wants to head to Glen Rose for lunch.
