I called Ricor to verify that I needed to cut down the spacers. The intiminators compress the spring by 5/8" so I cut the spacers by that much.

So here is the tool I used to set oil level. I keep the steel rod in it to keep it straight, and just pull it out for the oil draw down to 190mm.

The Shrek is back in action. I took it for a ride and the front end damping was much improved. Some people say it's like a whole new bike.....blah,blah,blah....
Let's say it's much improved. I didn't put air in it yet (I believe it calls for 10 psi) so I'll reserve final judgement until then.
I'm running progressive springs, Ricor intiminators, and 5 wt Amsol.
I believe it's probably the best it can be for a KLR without putting stupid $$$ in it.

A quick wipe with acetone cleans up all the previous markings. If you didn't know, these things are sold online for around $15, I found this at the local big orange home improvement store for about $5.

Got the Clearview windshield today. It's a 14".
Love the windshield, hate the mounting. They have you reuse screws that simply aren't long enough. A trip to the hardware store is in order to tidy it all up.

I decided to install this battery monitor today, and to address the piece of crap mounting on the Clearview windshield

Found a place to mount the 3 color led. Had to glue it in from the bottom. It just wouldn't stay otherwise.

Added a bit of foam for the front of the windshield.
