I got to tell you Dan,
I got a real good chuckle out of that response, sometimes you really nail it.

Temp sensor central in airflow is nice, but I prefer the foam filter of the competition. C'mon April-end. :happay

K&N filters suck, plain and simple. The airbox looks cool though.

I did the CABDR along with a high speed race thru the desert, the sand felt like the consistency of flour. Probably a thousand miles of off road and a couple hundred miles of Street on this filter with zero maintenance since the start. 20210412_104738.jpg 20210412_105649.jpg 20210412_105727.jpg 20210412_110405.jpg
There was a little bit of filter oil inside the airbox but not a speck of dirt.
I've never seen the inside of a air box this clean after riding Off Road.
And a picture of the @Rottweiler Performance wash me plate.

Is that how the intake comes - with those fairly large drainage holes? Did you drill them out or something. I always imagined it reused the OEM rubber grommets.

***Oh, wait - you likely do have them installed, but you removed them to wash the bike .. d'uh. Good plan :D

The photo below is what I was thinking I should be looking at initially:

@TrailTrauma , you are 100% correct on all counts, it does reuse OEM drain grommets, and I did remove to wash.
Dan, The wash me plate is awesome.

Me too! It's the first time I have actually thought about reaching for my wallet for one of these intakes.

When I did the CABDR last year with the OEM intake there was a slight dusting inside the OEM air box. While that is perfectly normal, less is always better. The R.P. air box definitely delivers.

Well, I don't want to be dishonest and say I bought it.
I was visiting his shop from TX. I asked if he (Chris) was going to make and sell a wash me plate. He said they will be on the website soon, and gave me one.
Chris is a stand up guy, and loves what he does for sure, I sure had a blast touring his shop.

I would definitely order a wash plate as soon as available. Last week they said there was a chance they could be shipping black plastic air boxes by this Friday. Which is what I’m waiting on.
