Truly inspiring and beautiful ride... the one that can change lives. Yours, people's who you met along the way, and even who have been following you on this weird but, sometimes interesting, digital world...
Thank's for allowing us to tag along in this moto-surfing full of stoke ride, Gary. Hopefully, you will continue to amaze us with your drive to find waves and roads.
With a big smile on my face, from the bugs on your surfboard, I say long live for those who find happiness riding waves and roads. They are really connected.
    Cheers, brother. Aloha from Brasil.

Mate, that was brilliant. Like a proper surf film with a great story. Great music. The narration reminded me of Bruce Brown, Endless Summer. I don't know if that was the intention but it's one of my all time favourites.
I'd certainly pay for a feature length version if you want to make a few bucks after it all :clap :thumbup

ACP and I must have a telepathic link. As the video rolled on, I also thought it was extremely Bruce Brown in the delivery. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was super close.

It also crossed my mind while watching this that with a little more content and editing that it would be a good short film for the PDX Motorcycle Film Festival.

    Gary -

Been loving the report. Thanks for all the feedback.

I did just get back from my first ever trip on my XT 225. Did 2 weeks over Baja. Thrown a few pics on instagram and on the XT 225 thread.

    Major props for the inspiration.

    Bruce Brown? dude! :bow

One thing that I struggle with a bit is that filming stuff or always thinking about how to document something can detract from the moment of the experience. So often I'm just not thinking about it and probably miss loads that would be great for a film.

I'd be stoked to tighten up the editing, music, narration to make something suitable for a film festival, but it may be hard to get it to that quality level on the road. Making these little films really gives an appreciation of what it takes to make something really good!

Thanks for the awesome ride report, Garnaro. It is inspiring similar adventures for me.

Have you looked into China's rules about driving? The last time I checked they do not allow foreigners to operate motor vehicles.

no worries - happy to provide the daydream fodder..

we're sticking on the same bike. we're pretty used to it by now and it ends up a lot cheaper travel.

China will be a bit of a trick. There were reports this year of an affordable company that did the logistics to ride without being with a guide (super expensive). But then some muppets in 4x4's messed it up nearly immediately and doesn't exist any longer. But there must be a way!

So China is still kind of a question mark...

China is still kind of up in the air - we don't know how we might make that work with the driving restrictions and all..
