    basecamp is a turd indeed. I suggest you switch to locus map pro for route planning, track recording, everything and toss that garmin hardware up on ebay and move on to modern systems.

    caltopo/gpsvisualizer on pc to find the remote stuff
    export gpx
    open in locus maps pro....this can also do full route building BETTER and has a full database of all your rides...this is the replacement for the turd. Read the locus thread. Full offline routing in your tent.
