Forest Rte 5N16 gate is open.

I was able to take a loop from San Francisquito Canyon Rd to Forest Rte 5N16 (entrance near the Water Power Plant) to San Francisquito Mtwy to Dry Gulch Road and back to San Fransciquito Canyon Rd. A lot of the gates in the Bouquet Canyon Road, Sierra Highway, and San Francisquito Canyon Rd area opening up.

Hey Dude, just now saw your post. (think it was me).
Everything worked out well, cr250 Brian came and gave a hand (he was at stage 1 waiting for me).
and you'r welcome:thumb. Rowher is a great place with so many different options, and have met lots of nice people there as well.

Met up with 2 of ma peeps and got a great shred session... For 5 minutes before they retired due to mechanical problems...

So I decided to get myself into trouble

noo unfortunately. I only have the weekends off.

Im running the Motoz Hybrid Gummy in the back which were pretty clapped out already so it totally didnt help that they grounded that trail up from the last time I went through it. Those tires hate anything loose and soft. lol I'll wait until I get new tires before doing it again.

    Haha.

    Great vid.
I came down Spring the other day, and remember thinking it looked like a death march going up.

I'm going back to Rowher more and more these days, there's so much to challenge you there, for me its the 2 main ridge trails going up.

Plus it only feels like an hour from my house in LA.

Hope to see you out there one day.
I'll be on a big black LC4 that will most likely be upside-down.

I'm pretty sure I'm to only one stupid enough to be doing this on that.

I'm going to try and go as much as I can while it's pleasant before switching to the cooler big bear area.

How was Spring? I noticed it leaving and want to check it out next time.

...and that's why I hate Rowher Flats.. ;)
Emmi, try standing on the pegs on those uphills. That Beta will do much much more than most riders are capable.

    Watch this noob and learn:

If you've ridden with me. You'll find that I will most likely not sit down until I hit slab or I'm playing around with MX turns. In this particular case. I was on worn hard terrain hybrid tires trying to make it up a section that appeared to have been recently graded so the terrain was super loose, fine dirt. My lose/lose situation was Sit as far back on the bike to get weight over the rear tires and risk looping the bike. Or shift my weight forward to prevent that but just have the rear tire dig itself down. Sometimes no matter how much practice and mind games you run though, you'll be served a bad tamale and everything falls apart. Which is always comedic to say the least lol.

Its ok going down. Pretty loose and the usual abundance of big cubic rocks.

If you want to do a nice loop up there try the trails off the Bouquet Canyon side.Bouquet Canyon to Coarsegold to 6N18/5N24 across the ridge and drop back down to Bouquet on Quarry Rd. Cross the road and catch the trail at the staging area up to the opposite ridge. This one is steep and not for beginners.
Instead take Bouquet on up to the Martindale Ridge gate (right) which hooks up with 6N08 that will run you back towards Rowher along the ridge. At the top you will see Rowher Flats way down there, and can decide to go down the steep way or take the meandering trail (Martindale Ridge) to Rowher if you must...
I prefer to continue along Martindale Ridge and fork off onto 6N07 which dumps back onto Bouquet.

It's all challenging enough along those two ridges with good views bypassing the rocks, dust, and rutted out Rowher circus.

    Nice. I rode it today.
First section has a big rain gully running along it to spice it up a bit, and then once I got to Bouquet Trail, it was just damp enough with the fog and precip to hook up really easily and chug through the tricky bits. Only a couple of dabs all the way up.
Thank you for the tip, and the bloody excellent directions. Easy to follow.

let me know next time you go to rowher. i can tag along, you set the pace and i follow. i also have a camera always ready....:ricky

i was up there last Saturday. always keep your eyes open since i saw a couple of snakes on the road, not sure what they are. earlier, a rider warned me about snakes, he saw a 4' rattlesnake on a single track trail. according to the same guy, all 3 trails that we know about that goes down to bouquet, they are all in great shape which was recently repaired.

I’d be honored to ride with the king of DVNR.

Usually I’m a little unreliable, but appointments to meet friends are something I try much harder to keep.
