There was a settled lawsuit that allows access to public land without the fee if not using developed facilities. Essentially free parking.

Interestingly, I have not bought a new pass for over a year and park in Rowher regularly to ride. Some days when the rangers are around checking bikes and I have not received any notices. I kind of forgot about it and now wonder if they stopped enforcing because of the settlement?

Rowher IS a developed facility. It has a restroom.

That is kind of the point of my comment. It appears to me that they stopped enforcing or notifying people about the Adventure Pass. The way I read the lawsuit, you can park at trail heads, with bathrooms, and not be required to have an AP, as long as you are just passing through to access the land. If you do not poop, no need to pay...

Per an article I read, since there is no real way to determine if you are using the facility, unless the ranger hangs out to witness it, they just don't enforce it anymore.

Sorry mate!!! I missed this post until now!!! Yes would’ve been my answer!!!

    Did you get out?

Very keen to go hit it up again and will look forward to meeting up! Was BLISTERING hot, but there’s a lot of good terrain and plenty of technical climbs and descents for the big bike!

The photo is my mate — first 10 minutes on dirt, 2 months road riding, KLR with worn 90/10 tires, rubber pegs, jeans and leather cowboy boots... I give him 10 points!

Heard it looks "like 40 Jeeps" cruised through the hiking trail and totally ruined it. they went all the way.

Anybody see this trail? (in the last week)

Heard from my Buddy, who rode it last Sat. It is that one kick ass single track, that used to feel like a "hiking trail," narrow rocky, with lots of twists turns. It essentially runs from that that dead end fireroad at the Reservoir, to the fireroad that goes down into the valley and then back up. Where there have been working a lot and put in a new bridge, where the road was washed out except room for moto's to go around. All in between San Frans and Bouquet Canyon roads.

    I'll assume
Well that area is considered DrinkWaterFlats across from Rowher.
Another sad day for two wheelers. Now either the route will become further destroyed by quads/SxS or the FS will actively close the access points.
It really was a hidden gem.
