Planning to head up to Rowher tomorrow am, anyone know if it is still open? It's a 1 hour ride for me to get up there so prefer not to waste the time if someone knows it is closed.
I will be on a KTM790 Adventure R, if you see me horizontal on a trail feel free to come help me lift the beast back up :-)

    I would but I can't.
Please let me know if you ever want to ride on the weekends.

Couple weeks ago we went from Apple Valley to Fawnskin (Big Bear Lake) niiiice trail. I'll plan something and post here.

Was through there a week ago. There was road construction going on at Bouquet & Spunky. Bouquet was closed so if you're going to make the trek to Lake Hughes, you have go up Spunky and take Spunky Edison trail to Leona divide.

As advertised Rowher was wide open today, great weather and very quiet, I think there was 1 vehicle parked in the main staging area but didn't see anyone out on the trails.
The 790 enjoyed the fire roads and the 'blue' single track trails, didn't attempt any of the harder trails without having a riding buddy to help lift me out of trouble.
15t front sprocket is on order so I can try using a gear other than 1st :-)

Been wanting to take the kids out to Rowher again, but everytime i go there, it really beats up my old Minivan getting to the parking lot, the off road to get to staging 1 is just horrible, lately ive been seeing people park at the very bottom on Sierra Hwy where you first enter, then i see them riding up the road, this is something i did not see people do in the years before, is it ok to do that? cause parking down there then riding up will be much easier for me, i wish they would've paved the road all the way to the parking area...

Fairly sure it is posted for no ohv until almost staging 1. Not sure what the fine would be and often no one is around except for busy weekend days. A few kids may get noticed vs one or two dirt bikes coming in.
When the rangers are present, they often hang out under the tree at staging 1 and may notice you coming in. The ones I talked to are cool though, so who knows.

At least they fixed the first 100 yards or so of the road

When I was there a few weeks ago, the end of that 100 yards (where it turns to dirt) is a BIG dip. I was my Africa Twin and was able to wheelie over it.. but dang it was just like the old dirt road dip.
