The existing grommet is at capacity. I just made a new hole with a new grommet.

California emissions standards have pretty much set the bar for all of the US over time. And yes, they pretty much killed off all two-stroke motors.

Only listed as a package with the cam .
Due to Dool's generosity I was able to obtain one FOC as he had a a modified air box prior to fitting the cam.
I too think there is a slightly friskier throttle response with the revised intake fitted.
On my carbed bike the stock air filter would actually fit direct to the carb intake, don't know if the injected bikes are the same, but if it is wouldn't be hard to get a better intake path than the stock set up.

Except that motorcycles are currently excluded from Commiefornia’s Smog Inspection program. Whatever you do don’t give them any ideas.

    Street two strokes.

while I loved em, those things were dirtier than can be.

If the demand was their, direct injection would bring em back, legally. But it doesn’t seem to be.

EFI model needs an adapter to reduce the air filter to fit the Throttle Body.

Guy over here by the name of Sarich invented a fuel injection system that many Outboard Engines use, so efficient 2 strokes still live on, he also invented an Orbital engine that got canned.

Back when they were popular they had a distinct power advantage over four strokes, and sometimes there was an advantage for learners where the restriction was purely capacity.
These days most learner bikes are power restricted, to around 200 hp ton , so that advantage is lost, and high performance four strokes are easier to find.
    And probably less troublesome too!
But yes, fond memories of a 250cc Greeves two stroke road bike with a a MX tuned motor which probably had more power than the Hima and weighed at least 50 kg less - if something similar was around today I would have one!
