Gheerulla is a rock infested place. Good to see the Himalayan conquered it.

I've been laid up with a kidney operation the last few weeks and not ridden obviously but I have experienced a couple of issues prior to this which I have spoken to the dealer about and will rectify as soon as I'm back on my feet.
I did a ride one very hot windy day ( temperatures up to about 37C) from here to Dalby Qld and return and it got slower and slower as the day wore on. There is a slight misfire just over 4000 then it gets worse as the revs rise....I suspect the plug but just haven't investigated. The other one is a little strange and I thought it was me but riding a relatively straight road then slowing down to turn the steering appears to stick. As I said I thought I was feeling things but then because the bike was parked for a few weeks I went to move it and it felt like I had a steering lock on. So the dealer said no problem they'll fit some tapered rollers and sort it out....just got to get it down there after my recovery.

This is concerning. The steerer bearings are one of the items failing often in india as well.

It is just a bearing. I don't consider it too dangerous and probably has just been over tightened at some point. No big thing as far as I'm concerned

No so much worried about it being dangerous as worried about it being something that shouldn't need attention on a brand new bike that has likely only traveled a couple of thousand KM's.

Correct. But having bought it with the full knowledge of the problems on the earlier ones I'd be more concerned if the steering head was cracking...
When I initially picked it up the sales guy said he got the workshop to adjust it, so not completely sure of the situation so I'll keep you posted. I'll be as interested as anyone to find out exactly what it is.

So far my only issue (Himalayan in Philippines, got it May of this year with about 5000km now) is the condensation forming inside the speedometer.

It developed about 3 or 4 months after. I'm not sure if the instrument panel is not fully sealed or it was an accidental water pressure spray while washing the bike but I try to avoid that and hand wash the panel all the time.

It is a known issue of the Himalayan and when I told it to our local dealer, they just needed proof of the problem and they replaced it under warranty. The bummer is that I lost my original mileage since day one (about 3700km++)

They are most definitely coming. RE corporate and RE North America have both said so.
The bikes aren't here yet but the country's largest Royal Enfield dealership Royal Enfield Fort Worth has them listed on their website.

There was a push to get the bike to the IMS show.
    It was not originally planned.
    Was told w/o a doubt it's coming.

A further update... I took mine in to get the steering looked at. They replaced the steering head bearings, not rusted just ‘notchy’ .
My other issue was lack of power and a hesitation around 4000 so while they were at it they cleaned the carb and replaced the spark plug and took a restrictor out of the air box. I wasn’t aware that there was anything in there but anyhow. Maybe because this was a demo model it had something to restrict it for a run in period.
So all good I rode it home in the rain today went very well...different bike

Did they physically show you something that they removed from the air box?

I am unaware of any such restrictor....

No they didn’t. I actually removed a small one a few weeks ago but then didn’t look any further. I’ll have a look again when I’m not busy building my shed.
