Royal Enfield Himalayan Spring Fling, Zion, Utah June 7-9, 2019

"Free to join in the fun"

    When: June 7-9, 2019

Where: Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, East Zion Utah

All Royal Enfield Bikes are welcome but the event will be geared towards the Himalayan and most routes will include dirt roads.

This is an Unorganized Self Supported ADV oriented event. This means that everyone needs to make their own reservations at Zion Ponderosa Ranch and provide their own meals. I will work on a group dinner for everyone with the resort.

Clinics: TBD. I will try to work on a couple clinics at the event. Perhaps basic maintenance, tire changes, basic camping etc....

We can see Toroweap, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Lake Powell, Brian Head, Duck Creek, Jacobs Lake and all the surrounding areas. Lots of Dirt! Enjoy daily rides from 10 miles to 300 miles.

Temperatures will be perfect at the higher elevations.

Please check out: www.zionponderosa.com for campsite details.

If you plan on joining us, please make a reservation asap!!!!

Tell them that you are with the "Himalayan Spring Fling" so they place you near the fun!

$14.00 per night dry camping is available through Zion Ponderosa and it includes hot showers, two pools, and two hot tubs!

RV Sites and Cabins are also available. Check their website for pricing!

    Meals: https://www.zionponderosa.com/dining-services/

Family Friendly! Two Up Friendly! Bring your kids and bring your significant other. There are plenty of fun things to do when you aren't riding.

T-Shirts will be available and I will post more details as we get closer to the event.

LET ME KNOW WHAT SIZE T-SHIRT YOU WEAR WHEN YOU RSVP!! COST WILL BE AROUND $15 FOR THE T-SHIRT. (IF YOU WANT ONE)

Put me down as VERY interested. June seems like far away but just enough time to save and plan starting NOW. Always wanted to visit and ride in Utah and this would be a bucket list trip for me, second only to the Himalayas.

    So now:
    1) probably plan to bring the missus and kid along, wouldn’t want them to miss the scenery. So the Ponderosa resort looks perfect for a little family vacation.
    2) fly into Vegas and drive down to the Ponderosa (3hrs)
    3) most importantly: how to bring the bike over? A road trip from NY to Utah would just be too long for me, especially with the family coming along,so what’s the best (cost effective) way to transport the bike over? Never shipped a bike across the country but I’ve heard of trucking companies that will move bikes nationally for $400-500. Anybody have experience with this?

Put me down for a spot. That's plenty of time to arrange a vacation.

Awesome venue, and what a great idea !

Can’t do 2019 but hopefully it will be successful enough to warrant an annual recurrence

Is it far from the TAT ? Looking to do a cross-country trip (not necessarily TAT but back-road based and assuming the insurance issues for foreign-registered bikes have been bottomed out by then).

It's probably a couple hours off the beaten path. But worth it!

Perhaps see if Euro Cycle in Las Vegas can rent you Himalayan. They are not far from the airport.

Most definitely. I figure I am only a day drives away. Getting off for work will not be an issue.

Seeing as how my wife and kids will be out of the country those dates, and I was trying to come up with something to do, this will work for me. I’ll make my reservations within the next few days. Put me down for a size XL tee shirt.

I like the idea of clinics. Some I’d be interested in would be maintenance (valve checks, oil changes, chain lubricating, etc).

Also, I’m not familiar with moto-related companies that deal in aftermarket items, so it would be cool if some reps from such companies would be there. Maybe the reps could all show up on a designated evening for a few hours of presentations, displays, meet and greet, and Q&A. I used to be heavily into Jeeps, and that was something that happened often at Jeep rallies.

Anyone in the Midwest interested in convoying there? Hmmm...if on bikes, is it still called a convoy? Anyhow, I’d like to head out on June 2nd, take scenic routes and see a few random places, hit up the rally, and be home the 11th...12th at the latest.
