All new bikes in India need to comply with BS6 (similar to Euro 6?) emissions standards by 1 April 2020.

So I guess a few will be too hard or too expensive and will be discontinued.

Spotted in Yackandandah Victoria this day. It’s the original Carberry stilled owned by Paul Carberry the builder. 88E5E807-200B-4565-B805-6BDE0EF7A8ED.jpeg 41CE10B3-9D4C-4153-91AD-BA4BDCE579A5.jpeg 630D42C6-1AEA-468A-960A-A3D7E35E55ED.jpeg

4EC6B211-2539-44D8-BFB4-5B81E0F80D7D.jpeg Had an issue with the new push rods I bought from England at Hitchcocks. Contacted them when I found issue of the Rod not sitting nice in rocker arm - jammed. Hitchcocks got back to me very promptly and would be looking at their remaining stock. Great service from them and appreciative of my issue. I cured issue myself once I figured the problem.

I was driving near the Parliamentary Triangle in Canberra yesterday and came up behind what I first thought was a beautifully restored 1970's 750 roundcase Ducati in that lovely yellow.

It turned out to be a Royal Enfield single, it looked very shiny and new, being ridden by a P plater. It was a most attractive bike I must say.

UPDATE: I just went to the Aussie website for Royal Enfield and I can't find that particular bike, oddly. Maybe last years model?

I really liked these UK only factory cafe styled bikes.
The polished alloy tank and the ‘ace’ bars just look so right with the Gold Star feel silencer.
Basically they were commissioned by the UK importer as a parts bin special, bloody nailed the British cafe style. Would be the ducks nuts on a Distinguished Gentlepersons Ride :-)
Practical as a commuter with about 21l and 80mpg imp, the cowl comes off and it has pillion pegs.

That's the one Richard. Good stuff.

The one I saw looked like better than brand new, really clean and shiny, and it had some sort of shiny shield on the muffler too, probably for keeping the soles of boots from melting on it I'd say. It just looked really nice eh.

A mate is thinking of getting a Himalayan. Any known faults with them ? We know they are not a 990 etc.

Biggest fault is they cause a condition know as "Perma Grin". Some of them came with minimal grease on the suspension pivot or steering head bearings.
A few came with the headlight aimed low or high. One fella got his engine replaced under warranty when the alternator ate itself up. Nathanthepostman flogged his up and down Merry Old England a few times and then across the USA. Wolftrax rode his across and the US and back. Noraly "itchy Boots" Schoemacher rode her first Himalayn home to Holland from India and hit a paperwork snag. Now she's riding here second one from Patagonia to Alaska. Overall they're pretty solid bikes that do what it says on the box. Himalayan owners thread.

None: the further you go, the faster the bike gets ... as bits fall off....
I had one for a few days and the speedo had the endearing habit of vibrating round and round inside its housing, the lights were pretty shit - and at idle it shook more than a hooker on crack...

Just passing this on, they have already done this overseas.

    Hats off to the Indians!
Blitzing the "establishment's" PR departments, no end!! :-)
As for the Hima's...the late EFI+ABS models seem to be just about bulletproof and rocksolid (also with a 2year warranty) as evidenced by a multitude of RTW travelers.

Started widening the RE I built up to do road trials. I made it rather skinny so now I want it more road/adventure/camping friendly. Some more to do but I have started. 78362B6F-6F2C-4E7D-B346-A8A2F282186D.jpeg 0036123A-9878-4C16-9B41-09969B137FD8.jpeg 904D95BE-5DD7-4381-8A01-3D6901A7D703.jpeg EE1F9E7F-D538-49F6-9E98-EBF70977F63D.jpeg
