I can't believe how many new engines and new model are coming and have come out of RE in the past 2 years... They are selling a lot and I guess with such cheap labour thy can afford to test the market...

I don't really like the red/silver combination but you got to give them credit for trying to deliver different variations of bikes... The Himalayan is doing extremely well sales wise and not just in Asia...

Spent the morning looking at a 2008 Royal Enfield Electra 500 with 21 km on the clock. It has been sitting in a shop for a long time. An a 3/4 RE for spares.

I bought them for a mate who is at work at the moment. He would like to sell me the incomplete one with 18,000 km and a slipping clutch

Actually chaps, after some thought I think I'll keep them both. Leave the green one in pretty much standard trim and turn the one above into an ADV/scrambler style bike. Any ideas welcome.

Cheers, all clear now. It sounded connected to JDs post but I only saw one.
    The green one looks mint.

That's no replica mate, that is the actual race bike that took 3rd in the 2007 Raid De Himalaya. Built and tuned Lean Burn 500 with 350 flywheels inside, Honda based rear suspension, USD forks, the whole nine yards.

image.jpeg Been reading this the past week. Great read about life, travel and experiences. Don't read much but find it hard to put down. Yes she's on a Royal Enfield.
