ps: I see you still have that ECape number plate on the trailer.....
Grizz is a bit of a number plate horder he will roll a car to stop and pick a plate up the other side of a highway
The Tenere was one of those bikes me and my best china checked out sitting on the school fence watching the english school birds strolling pass. Yas howsat you pretty things which was very quickly interupted by the only Tenere in the Germiston area cruising past with us drooling and the girls forgotten. Then of course the old discussion of one day when we are big
Well I am big now
Moerse Plesier Maverick..... I do enjoy this little car, and when I get to share is with the Lovely Mrs MAVERICK in the rear, asking how far to go every 5 minutes..... my day is made.... She cooks a mean plate of food as well.
Dirk is very right about one thing he did say.... over here we donot have many friends, but hey.... family everywhere.
It was a pleasure going to pick up the baby, I always love it when a tool works, and the trailer has now brought 3 bikes home from all over the UK, and taken the Tuareg to Wales for forest fun etc...
This was just loaded up to go to Wales for some forest fun..... count one fall, 2 indicators , a sparaned thumb and another wrist...:eek1
Just found this pic I took hanging off the side of the 1150 one weekend, chasing Gauloises on his very sexy 1150GS.
Thought you might like it.
and this one chasing Woodsie on another day......
Matjiesfontein, Namakwaland..... Blomme tyd.
GS's do go down...
On the way to Rhodes..... I must have fallen off about 15 times that day, included was a virgin pillion, and full set of panniers. The rain caught us out on red clay..... I damn near tore a poepstring by the end of the day.
Geeeewiz!! Grizz, what a day to watch flowers, you like the difficult stuff :eek1
So the question is... did the virgin pillion ever ride with you again???
Shame man, that sucks. Riding with a pillion is one of the most rewarding exercises I have ever done and thank goodness I had my mate Leon to show me how with his wife Liza - they are excellent.
Proper technique makes the world of difference, and the difference between a crap trip and a good one offroad.
Thanks for posting!
Yes, she definitely did, and will ride to the end of the earth with me any time I offer her a ride.
Pauline has a heart the size of that of a LION. She takes on any challenge, and being 5foot 1 inch tall, it just goesto show..... size matters, not.
All our falls, and we all fell (6GS's , 5pillions) all had been riding for 20 plus years each, just that the clay screws you over good and propper.
Will I ever do it again... HELL, YES ! ! "
I never ride to fall, but I do ride knowing that we all can fall, My riding now spans 28 years, and yes I have fallen, sometimes stupidly, (read unexpectedly) but never from being a complete twat.(DOOS).
Just looking for a fun pic to post....
Does anyone here use www.smugmug.com ? go take a look.... it is free hosting, and registation takes 3 minutes, then you have a web based album, great for posting on sites who only allow links etc.
Maybe this will make you guys feel less sorry for me, I also make my own BILTONG, very good I must say, and I buy my Boerewors in the area where I work.
The fridge and store is under my stairs in the house.
How's crime in SA these days ??
that bad ehh ??
Well, Crime this.......
Here's a castle about 4km from my home, ROCHESTER CASTLE.
My one riding buddy and techno wizzard Ian's KTM.
Arty pic time..... enjoy.
..... good night....
Always loved F14's
Nice photos, I also make my own billitong and gedroogte wors.
Kinda fun when u get the hang of it.
Riding in red clay is always difficult, totally agreed. Like the stuff going up Swartberg Pass is kinda like snot when you go up and its been raining a bit. Knobs become slicks, slicks become KY Jelly, and bobs your mothers uncle.
Good on Pauline. Seems like dynamite does come in small packages... me GF's the same.. tiny with a heart of a lion. 3 cheers to sweet SAfrican wimmin...
ps: smugmug is pay only, you get 7 days free trial. i use it, and find it excellent.
R10 a month it costs me, for 4 gigs of bandwidth a month, and its so easy to upload my entire weekend on it. 4 clicks and I sit back...
sweet. if you are oging to buy it, let me know. I will save you $5, and make me $10. Everyone wins.
Cheers. ps: I dont know bout everyone else, but crime is not the hot topic anymore. We are getting on with living, with vigilance of course, and a beady eye, but there are more important things now..
Mental note to self....must visit grizz's fridge again....
Fook me look at this bike...........
Hows about the weekend some time, I have maybe got Alicia down on Sunday to teach her on the little Dualsport (Kawasaki KE 100)
You drink beer and supervise me while I replace the rear drive seal on the 1150 ?
Got some San Miguel, Stella, Peroni and Castles, just having a Stella Artois now as I type.
Would love to but going to Donnington Park for the SB series on Sunday Well that's if I can get the AT's petrol pump replaced before then
